'Lo,

I don't know how accurate the timing of this is. I don't know how long he was gone before she found Leo, Piper and Jason or anything. I made up the weeks and days completely randomly, sorry I had no books with me at the time.

I've never written anything like this before, sorry if it is rubbish…..

I don't own Percy Jackson, Rick Riordan does.

Enjoy….

It was now five weeks, five days and six nights since every one woke up on that day to find Percy was missing. People say that things get better with time but it's not true. Every day that Annabeth spent worrying and searching, every time she devised a new theory of what could have happened to her boyfriend the world seemed to dip into a darker shade of grey. That is what it seemed to Annabeth.

Annabeth had been wandering through Camp with no real destination when she veered off course and found herself standing atop one of the many sand dunes of the beach. She removed her shoes and placed them on the ground and walked down onto the beach. She carried on walking towards the sea until her bare feet were immersed in the salty water and her ankles were being tickled by the foamy surface.

She closed her eyes and breathed in the familiar smell of Percy. The daughter of Athena allowed the wind to carry her long hair. For a moment she could almost pretend that it was Percy tugging at the curls as he inspected each one in awe, as he sometimes did. She could pretend the soft sound of the waves in her ears was him, whispering stupid things that meant nothing but caused butterflies within her stomach to threaten to burst out.

Annabeth's hands lifted to and caressed the pendant of red coral Percy had given her. Since Percy had disappeared she hadn't cried, she had kept herself together, she needed to – crying wouldn't get her Seaweed Brain back to her so she had to do things that would. But when she thought about it, Annabeth had tried everything she could think of and was capable of doing herself in order to find Percy. She had also prayed and prayed to the Gods, even Aphrodite! Maybe if things she could do wouldn't help anyway, crying would be a fine option.

Suddenly she was angry, she just couldn't understand how or why this had happened and the Gods obviously weren't listening to a word she said. She picked up a handful of pebbles and started throwing them as far as she could and with as much force as she had into the ocean. She watched as each smooth stone was stolen and vanished from her sight, just what had happened to Percy.

Then as the first tear rolled down her cheek it seemed to set off a new trend and tears fell from her eyes hard and fast. She couldn't stop them, they just kept falling as if every tear that she had held back over the last few days had found an escape route and was determined to pursue that journey.

"Bring him back!" She screamed as she lobbed a stone over her head and into the waves. Annabeth began to throw bigger stones in larger quantities and as each one disappeared she shouted profanities at the sea and the sky, "why would you just let him be taken?!" Another rock, "just help us find him!"

She chucked another and fell down and sat there in the surf. She was sodden and sand was creeping into the pockets and waist band of her shorts but she didn't care, the only thing that would make her happy would be to have Percy by her side and she couldn't have that.
