I'm not a girl,Not yet a woman. All I need is time,A moment that is mine,While I'm in between…

Angela stared at the reflection in the mirror, taking in her bloodshot eyes and the dark circles beneath them. A familiar look, it didn't faze her; it was the same look she woke up to almost every Saturday morning no thanks to cheap beer, the only thing high school underclassmen could afford.

She woke up this morning, feeling only soreness and a hangover, and wondered if anyone could tell her what she did the night before and why she felt guilty about it. Maybe it was going to church on Sunday with mother and sermons she was forced to listen to, but still, she felt jaded. Her mother's trashy romance novels promised her it would be romantic, a notion she now scoffed at, wondering if she was doing the right thing or if she was being sexy enough. She tried to come off as coy and playful but swore her trembling hands gave her away.

She'd promised herself liquid courage wouldn't rob her virginity the same way it had many East side girls.

She jumped at the loud knock on the door. "Angela, I hate to break it to you, but that's how you look, and no amount of starting in the mirror is going to change that. Now get the hell out!" Curly bitched.

Angela scowled. She may be considered a woman now, but she still looked like a normal fifteen year old with a bad hang. Just wished she could remember his name...
