Hey all. Another oneshot, Nice and short. Not much to say about it though. Enjoy maybe?

Summary: He named them all as he saw fit. Only in his last moments, did Zexion ever realize there was more than met the eye.

Disclaimer: No, I don't own it. Surprise, surprise.
Spoilers: End of Chain of Memories, in and around? Shouldn't spoil too much.

Looking into the aquamarine eyes of Vexen's toy and bright green eyes of the traitor, Zexion sees his mistake. He'd seen the wild card that was number VIII as just that- a card in play. Something that could be used as a pawn, a piece in the game played by all Organization members.

Never a person. Axel was simply a weapon, put into play by Xemnas on missions, exploited by his own group, the so called 'underground members'. And apparently, judging by his circumstances, Maluxia was involved as well. One of the most deadly of them all and proficient in fighting; something Zexion never bothered with. Something he should have paid attention to.

His own task of supplying titles to the new members gave away his distain for the redhead. Not the Graceful Assassin, who the Nobody was obviously double crossing in some ways, or the Gambler of Fate, safe and sound in the Castle That Never Was. The Flurry of Dancing Flames. Kingdom Hearts, he'd never even made him sound like a person.

At the point he'd had the name bestowed upon him, he hadn't been. Heartless and lacking any personal drive, Axel may as well have been a tool without a mind of its own. Other than anger, he'd felt nothing, said nothing but the essentials and done nothing but fulfilled his orders.

That had changed. A complete one eighty, unless of course, this was some twisted design from Xemnas. Not that his superior would have gained anything from his own death, or that of Lexaeus and Vexen. Just thinking their name in a split second caused him to frown and there he saw the motive.

Roxas. The Key of Destiny. The most important piece of the puzzle that was the Organization. A Nobody whose actions could change all of their fate. And, memorably, Axel's best friend.

Two tools, two people, two lives that had been ruined by six apprentices too stupid to know better. He deserved to die. To be obliterated like the hopes and dreams Axel's Somebody must have been. Like Roxas would be, if Ansem was still around and upset with them.

Yes. Being held up by the Replica of another of their tools, this was what he deserved. To vanish, and become nothing for all eternity. It was true.

But it didn't mean he liked it.

And end.
