Lovesick Sponge
~French Narrator~
"Ah, a lovely evening in Bikini Bottom. So calm, so relaxing, so…. Scary? Oh well, let us see what SpongeBob and friends are up to this evening."
"NO! no… d-don't go in there…" said a quivering Patrick. He, SpongeBob and Sandy sat on the couch in SpongeBob's pineapple, watching The Blob-fish.
They watched in fear as a female fish on the television slowly stepped toward a cracked open door, the darkness peeking through it. "Hello? Is someone there? …. Is that you, Johnny? John-OWAHHHH!" the creature jumped out at her, devouring her face.
"AHHHHH! HIDE ME!" screamed Patrick, flipping the half-filled popcorn bucket into mid-air. "Patrick, will you hush up?!" exclaimed Sandy. Gary, who sat on a bed of newspaper on the floor, meowed in agreement.
They had to sit through twenty more minutes of scary scenes and Patrick screaming. Once the film had ended, SpongeBob turned off the television. "SPONGEBOB! TURN ON THE LIGHTS! TURN EM' ON!" cried Patrick.
SpongeBob then turned them back on. "Don't worry, buddy! It was just a movie. Wasn't even that scary" said SpongeBob, waving off his friend. "Not scary?! That's easy for you to say. That lady got her face eaten off!" said Patrick, throwing his arms in the air.
SpongeBob then sighed, happily, his eyes sparkling as he stared off into space. "Well, at least that one ladyfish got to be with her true love at the end," said SpongeBob. Patrick scoffed. "Yeah… well, all that mushy-gushy stuff didn't make it any less scary" he said.
SpongeBob shook his head with a smile. "Oh, Patrick. You and your closed mind".
"Oh, no it's open alright… and if I don't close it, the Blob-Fish will come and eat it! I-I'd better get back home and turn on all the lights!"
SpongeBob laughed his signature laugh. "Alright. Goodnight, pal!" He said.
"Oh, and Patrick," said Sandy as she stood up from the couch and walked over to him, placing her hand on his shoulder, "Don't forget to check under your bed and behind every door. You don't want to have an encounter with…" she gulped, "it" she finished. This sent Patrick running out of the house, screaming.
SpongeBob and Sandy shared a laugh at their friends' outburst. "Haha, Woo-wee that was fun. I do kind of feel bad though for scarin' him like that" said Sandy, rubbing the back of her air helmet.
"Aw, I wouldn't worry about that, Sandy. Pat's always scared over the littlest of things. Like that time he thought his kitchen sink was a monster when he had that garbage disposal installed" said SpongeBob with a smile.
Sandy chuckled, "Ha ha ha! Yeah. He even ran out from under his rock shouting "call animal control!" ". They both laughed at the memory.
"Ha ha ha, Woo," said SpongeBob, wiping away a tear from all his laughter. "What if his toilet was clogged? He'd probably call the fire department!" he joked. For some reason, that joke sent Sandy into a tailspin. She fell over onto the floor laughing. "F-fire department!" she could barely get her words out as she was rolling.
The sight made SpongeBob giggle like a child, placing a hand over his mouth as he watched her.
"Are you okay?" he asked with a giggle, helping her up off the floor. "Yeah, I'm alright now, Haha. Well, thanks for the movie and popcorn, SpongeBob. I'd best be going, I've got some inventions to work on. See ya!" she said. He held the door open for her, "Sure thing, San-day. See you around!" he said.
He closed the door behind her, sighing, happily. He turned around and started walking towards the kitchen with a spring in his step. Gary, noticing the goofy wide grin on his face, followed him into the kitchen. "Meow?" he muttered. As if to say, "You feeling alright?" to his yellow master.
"Come on, Gare Bear. You must be starving!" said SpongeBob as he reached into the kitchen cabinet for a can of snail food.
Gary watched as he took a can opener to the Snail-Po, he whistled happily as he performed the action.
"There ya go. Eat up, buddy!" said SpongeBob cheerfully as he poured the food into Gary's bowl. He began to hum a random yet pleasant tune to himself as he sprayed the kitchen table with cleaner and wiped it up with a towel.
He turned around to see Gary just staring at him. "Is there something the matter, Gare Bear?" He asked, biting his bottom lip with a smile. "Meow," said Gary. "Well, of course! I've never felt better" replied SpongeBob.
"Meow… meow?"
"Ha ha, Oh Gary why would you ask such a silly question?" Gary just let out a little sigh, "Meow, (Okay, if you say so. You're just acting even happier and more strange than usual)". SpongeBob chuckled, "Well, what's not to be happy about?" He questioned in a cheery and loud tone.
"EVERYTHING!" yelled Squidward out his bedroom window. "Pipe down, Dunderhead. I'm trying to get my beauty sleep" said the self-absorbed octopus. "Whoops! Sorry, Squiddy. I left my kitchen window open. That explains why you can hear me so well" replied SpongeBob.
"Or maybe it's because you can never keep QUIET!" yelled Squidward, who then slammed his window shut. SpongeBob shrugged. "Oh well. You make sure you eat every bit of that, Gary. It'll make you grow strong" said SpongeBob, adding emphasis on the word Strong.
"Come up to bed when you're done, Gare Bear," he said, patting his pet on the shell. "La la la la la la!" He sang as he left the kitchen, and headed up the stairs. "Meow (There's definitely something up with him…)" Gary then slurped up his food.
A/N: And so, there's the first chapter to this story. I know it's nothing exciting yet, but I hoped you enjoyed it so far. :)
