Summary: Adam is pissed at Hiro, and he really needs to vent all of his anger, somehow.
Disclaimer: I don't own Heroes.
"Charred Words"
As I drown in self sin you save me from me.
Fairy tale's end I'll have when we save the world.
You're a knight, teaching valor and chivalry.
Fear for you and my Light when Fright's plot unfurled.
You saved her, in the shadows I fail to grin.
A kiss rewrites me – a kiss writes your legends.
Saved me to kill me – you curse me with Darwin!
I fall like the sakura, never to mend.
You say you are the hero but you are wrong!
You're the villain, you're lust, you tear out my heart!
I'm the hero, I'm god, you're hell will be long.
Have fun screwing with time, then try to restart.
You stepped on too many butterflies; time's torn!
When you are dead and rotting, no soul shall mourn.
"Gah! What the fuck is this shit?" Furious, Adam chokes the life out of the paper with his tightly fisted hands. Envisioning his crushed parchment as a miniature Hiro's limbs, Adam slices the thin paper into many tiny pieces; broken fragments flutter down to the dirt.
Really, what the hell was he thinking? Writing a poem, for god's sake? He sounds like an overemotional child weeping into their secret and poorly hidden diary!
Adam grabs a fresh piece of parchment and starts again:
Hiro, you son of a bitch!
Ah, that's so much better.
Just to be sure no soul will ever glimpse at his inner wuss, illegible, poetic words meet the flames.
The End
A/N:
I wrote this a while back, around the time season two was airing. I never got around to posting it, for some reason, but I decided to now. Hmm, it was probably because I was still tentative about posting anything I wrote online.
Each line in the poem has exactly eleven syllables and sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom.
If it isn't too much trouble leave a review! They really make my day, and I'd love to know what you think. Constructive crit is helpful too. Thanks for reading!
