Hey everyone. This story was brought to you by Magical Law and Government: Crime and Punishment assignment on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I wrote for task number 4 Suspension above a Death Potion and the task was to write about someone being wrongly accused of something. This little piece of fluff would not leave me alone until I wrote it. So without further ado I hope you all enjoy Comic Thief.
"Did not," Albus Severus's voice was heard from the boys shared bed room.
"Did too," screamed back James Sirius.
Ginny sighed as she made her way towards the sounds arguing coming from her young sons bedroom. She wondered what she'd walk into this time as she neared the room. The sounds of things being thrown haphazardly around the room came to Ginny's ears as she opened the door.
"What's going on in here?" she asked looking around the room. It looked like a tornado had come in and torn the place apart. Books were strewn everywhere. Clothes were hanging off places that Ginny didn't even imagine they could actually hang off. In the middle of the mess and destruction stood both her sons. James's arms were crossed over his chest and his face was a bright red. He seemed to still be fuming. But Albus's face was quite red too with tears streaming down his face.
"He stole my that comic book that Dad bought me while we were in Muggle London last week," James told his mother petulantly pointing at his brother. "Mum make him give it back. I wanted to show it off to my friends."
"I didn't steal it," Albus said maintaining his innocence in the situation he found himself in. Their Dad had bought him his own comic that day in Muggle London. Why would he want to steal James's one.
"I know you took," James shouted at Albus. "I want it back now."
"Boy's please calm down," Ginny sighed as she watched her usually level headed ten year old stare down his younger brother. "James you know your brother doesn't lie about things like this..."
"You always stand up for him, Mum," James snapped. "It's not fair. He took it. I'm sure of it."
Just as Albus was about to begin to defend himself yet again Lily walked in holding the comic book in question. She walked over to James and handed it to him with a simple "thanks for letting me borrow this yesterday". She looked around the room confused and then shrugged walking back out.
"James," Ginny sighed looking at her oldest son, "isn't there something you would like to say to your younger brother, young man."
James sighed his anger quickly deflating. He really didn't remember Lily asking him to borrow the comic book but she must have or she wouldn't have had it. "I'm sorry I accused you of stealing my comic book," James told his brother actually sounding sorry.
"It's alright, James," Albus told his brother pulling him into a hug. "But next time please ask Lily about something like this before jumping to conclusion that I stole your stuff."
"Deal."
Ginny cleared her throat. "Now I want the two of you clean this room up before you do anything else," she told them in a strict no nonsense voice. "Then come down for lunch." As she headed down to the kitchen to begin working on lunch for her family she heard the sounds of peace restored to her house once more.
I hope you all enjoyed Comic Thief.
