The Arrival

"Fancy seeing you here Professor McGonagall." The tabby shifted into Professor McGonagall. "How did you know it was me?" she asked. Professor Dumbledore smiled. "My dear Professor, I've never seen a cat sit so stiffly." "You'd be stiff if you'd been sitting on a brick wall all day," said Professor McGonagall.

"Lily and James are dead; I think you know which house Harry is staying at." Professor Dumbledore said. Professor McGonagall nodded. "Petunia's family, isn't that right?" she nodded. Professor Dumbledore sighed, remembering Petunia Evans, his former student fondly. She was a peculiar one indeed.

The sound of a motorcycle grew louder and louder. Finally, a giant man with a bushy black bear and a bundle of blankets landed on the ground. "Hagrid," said Dumbledore, sounding relieved. "At last. And where did you get that motorcycle?" "Borrowed it, Professor Dumbledore, sir," said the giant, climbing carefully off the motorcycle as he spoke. "Young Sirius Black leant it to me. I've got him sir."

"No problems, were there?" "No, sir-house was almost destroyed, but I got him out all right before the Muggles started swarming around. He fell asleep as we were flying over Bristol." Professor McGonagall leaned over to catch a sight of the famous boy who lived. She noticed a strange lightning bolt scar. "Is that where." whispered Professor McGonagall. "Yes," said Dumbledore. "He'll have that scar forever."

Hagrid whispered goodbye to Harry. He left on his motorcycle. Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall walked over the Dursleys house. Dumbledore knocked on the door and a woman opened. "Dumbledore!" Petunia Dursley cried. "I heard about what happened to Lily and James." A tear slid out of Petunia's eye. Petunia was a very nice girl growing up. But there was one child she always bullied, her twin sister Lily.

When both Petunia and Lily found out they were witches, they were excited. They got the same books, the same brand of robes, the same type of owl and they even had wands that were both made of willow. The girls expected to be sorted into the same houses. Lily's name came first in the alphabet, so she went up first. "Gryffindor!" the sorting hat announced. Petunia knew she was too timid for Gryffindor, not smart enough for Ravenclaw, and nowhere near cunning enough for Slytherin.

Petunia expected to be sorted into Hufflepuff, but when she put on the sorting hat, it announced that she belonged to Slytherin. Petunia's torture at Hogwarts started there. She was the only Muggle-born in the entire house. She was called a Mudblood, her roommates played mean pranks on her, and by the end of Petunia's seventh year she only had one friend, a young boy name Severus Snape.

"Do you think he'll end up in Slytherin?" asked Petunia. "Who knows." Dumbledore said. He and Professor McGonagall left. Petunia took Harry inside. Everyone's lives were changed forever.

Wait, Petunia ended up in Slytherin? Does Severus Snape end up falling in love with Petunia instead of Lily. Next chapter is coming soon.
