~*~*~*~*The Rain That Never Stops*~*~*~*~
Quatre's POV
He stood outside, in the rain, for several hours now. When he returned I went to greet
him but instead of "hello" he growled something about the mission after that he went
straight to the back yard and 've been standing there ever since. I looked at him every
now and then and all this time he hadn't moved an inch. I became more worried when the
clock stroke midnight./ Heero's been out in the rain for 6 hours./ I paced around the room
for 10 minutes before I gathered enough courage to go check up on him. I made my way
through the rain. It was so dark I could hardly see anything. The rain was friezing cold,
and I shivered as heavy drops of water fell on my head and shoulders. I didn't bother to
take an umbrella I had something else on my mind. Through all the darkness that
surrounded me I was Heero standing trembling violently. I took few steps closer but still
he showed no sign of acknowledging me. I gently touched his shoulder "Heero you
should come inside or you'll catch pneumonia or something" I smiled at the thought that
if he did get sick I could've stayed by his side day and night until he got better. Roaring
wind in my ears interrupted the flow of my thoughts and made me notice that Heero still
did not respond. I looked in his face, his eyes were closed "Let me rest " whisper
escaped his lips just loud enough for me to hear. The words stabbed into my heart like a
thousand knifes. /Let me rest? What was he talking about?/ I asked him to repeat what he
said just to make sure I heard him right. "You heard me. Leave" /Leave? How can he say
that?/ I stared at him wide-eyed then pain and anger washed over me just like that rain
that didn't stop pouring. I shook him, as if he wasn't trembling enough already. "Heero I
don't know what you're trying to proof, but I'm not leaving you out here with this non-
stopping rain. Now come" I took his hand and pulled him towards the house. To my
surprise he did not resist, probably was too weak to. When we entered the house both of
us were soaking wet. I sat Heero on the coach and went to get something to dry off with.
When I came back Heero was still sitting where I put him. I moved closer and put a towel
over his head. He stopped shivering, now he just sat there blankly staring at the wall. I
stood on my knees and looked into his eyes. His Prussian blue orbs flicked and focused
on me. "What were you trying to do out there?" "Die" one simple word caused me more
pain than the whole war itself. "Why?" my voice was breaking, I was on the verge of
crying. "Because I failed. No one needs me anymore" tears were streaming freely from
my eye but Heero's blank expression did not change. I hugged him tightly "but I need
you. I need you so much. Can't you see I love you"
Heero's POV
He hugged me so tightly I could feel his heartbeat. /I know you won't let me go now so
I'll just wait. As time passes you will stop needing me as well and I'll be left alone once
again/.
