Chapter 1
Luxanna Crownguard walked into her bedroom after dinner, and noticed that the window was open again. A cold breeze made her shudder. She frowned annoyed and quickly crossed her room to close it. "I could've sworn I had closed it before leaving…" It was the middle of winter in Demacia, and her room was now freezing. She sighed and nervously looked around. Something felt odd that night. "It was probably just the wind", she told herself trying to shake it off, but deep down she knew the window had been locked before she left. The door suddenly closed behind her, and everything fell into darkness. Lux gulped In the hurry to close the window she had forgotten to turn the lights on. She hated darkness. "The wind again..?", she thought, now even less convinced than before. Maybe there was another open window in the hall outside her room. Or maybe there was someone in her room…
A sudden clank that came from the right side of the room paralyzed her in fear. There was definitively someone else in her room. She glanced left at the golden staff that was on the light table and tried to calculate how long would it take her to run up to it. Her bedroom was huge, and she was powerless without it. There was a clank again, and she sprinted towards the staff, but was stopped midway by an overpowering strength that covered her mouth and clutched her arms and chest.
"Don't scream", whispered a man's voice into her ear. His cold lips brushed her skin, making her shudder.
"Wha-what do you want?" she mumbled.
"Me?", he sneered, suddenly releasing her. She immediately turned around and saw a young man with a dark purple hood that covered half of his face, smirking at her. "I want you". And before she could scream, he pulled her closer and pressed his lips against hers. She widened her eyes in shock, but didn't fight back. "My first kiss..!". For some reason she wasn't scared. She actually liked it. "Is this my prince in shining armor? Is he an angel..? But why does he taste so weird..?"
And then everything fell into darkness.
