Hello, my readers! I'll be very honest, this isn't my first fanfiction to write but it is my first one to write on this lovely site and my first in the Coraline category. I was inspired to write this after a wonderful thought of what the Beldam must have been like to other children before taking their lives. Surely, the Beldam has come in different forms so I thought, "Why not change things up and give her a challenge?"

That is where this comes to play. This story will be set fourteen years after the events in the first film and Coraline and her family will have moved away by now. Don't fret, Coraline fans, Coraline will play a big role in this story. This will be a Beldam x OC fic. Shocking, I know. And a bit weird, yeah? But this'll be different in exploring why the Beldam does what she does, why she craves the souls of children. In order to accommodate the world my original characters are used to, the Beldam will shape many things to match it, including herself. What does that mean? You're on the right track if you've guess the Beldam will take the form of a male as I consider the Beldam to be a spider like creature with no specific gender. Just a creature who is willing to do anything to feed on a soul. That being said, I hope you will like this story and I will try my best to remain true to the original film and book.
