Aythor's note- This story thing is based on a song by Barlow Girl, and I know it is really bad, but please, please, please R&R!

She Walked Away

She couldn't take another day of this. Her parents and little sister were alright in their own way, but their obsession with God was just driving her crazy. At nineteen, Lindsey Burton still lived with her family, but that was soon to change. Her piercing green eyes, shoulder-length brown hair and petite figure had made her popular at school, but she never liked the attention.

Jim and Holly Burton wanted Lindsey to come to the church small group on Wednesday night. They hoped that it would help push her towards God. They came up to her room to talk to her about it, but she was a little less than excited about it. In fact, she was mad, and they started arguing. It had recently been very easy to get into fights with her, but this time the second they mentioned the Lord she was yelling. They yelled back, something that they realized later was a bad idea.

She stormed out of the house into the dark night, and grabbed the keys to her Ford Escape. She had to leave these people, but where would she go? She didn't know, but anywhere must be better than here. She started driving, deciding on Los Angeles. Driving too fast, she laughed. Independence was clearly calling her name, and she was now free. A little voice inside of her told her that her family loved and cared about her, but she soon silenced it. She would show them. She would go to L.A. and fulfill her dream of singing professionally. Just try and stop me, she thought, still speeding. She hadn't glanced behind once.

Holly and Jim watched as Lindsey took off down the road. She sometimes left, as if getting away from the house would solve things. They had prayed and prayed, but so far Lindsey had not come to know Christ. They were glad that at least Jessica, their youngest daughter, had come to Jesus.

The next day Lindsey still hadn't come back. Holly especially started to get very worried. Jim was sure that Lindsey had just gone to one of her friend's houses, but when the next day arrived with no Lindsey, they were both worried. As soon as Holly woke up and saw that she was not in her room, she woke up Jim and called the police.

Six months later, the police still hadn't found her. Her family realized now that there was little chance of police finding her, and they prayed harder than they ever had before. Lindsey's absence hit Jessica hardest of all. They had been so close they were like best friends, even though there was a four year age difference. They thought of her every day; they couldn't do anything without her on their minds. They prayed for her to come home, but they mostly prayed for her soul. They wanted her to know Christ so badly. Maybe she would find someone wherever she was that could help her, and then she would come home to them.

"The choice is yours alone now

Tell me how this story ends"

"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him." Luke 15:20.
