Chapter One

(1st P.O.V) -*dream

*He stood there. His hands hanging by his side as his tall figure illuminated in a distance by globes of light dancing around him.

His eyes were closed, as if in serenity, as a slow smile etched upon his lips, playing upon them in a breath taking manner. His clad features and raven hair, his pale skin, and wrinkled clothes gently fluttering, like a gentle breeze brushing its soft fingertips upon his rigid figure.

A slight smile slowly slipped upon my lips as realization sunk into my brain. Warm tears hazed my sight as they slowly trickled down my cheeks as I searched the boy that stood only meters before me. My heart burned, inflaming with intense feelings; hurt, pain, anger, pity and reassurance-assurance that I was no longer alone.

I open my mouth as I inhale a sharp breath, awaiting words to spill out of my lungs and heart, for a scream to echo into the dark void, a sound to show him, to tell him, to threaten him and tear his heart out for all the things he had torn out of mine. Images pass by my mind, drilling old memories of laughter, happiness and...regret into my brain.

The scream that sat upon the tips of tongue slowly faded away as a whimper beseeched my lips, echoing lightly within the abyss. Tears rolled down my cheeks as jabs of pain stabbed into my heart as moans and ragged breaths clawed at my throat, burning my lungs, begging for air to fill them.

Why...? Why wasn't he coming?

My head tilted upwards, searching, before lying upon the now vacant spot where only seconds ago he had stood. The orbs of light disappeared, intensifying the darkness within the endless void. Temperatures slowly dropped as chills ran down my spine, my breathe beginning to form mists, fading away into the pitch blackness.

"...Na...ar..u...?"

5:24am, glowed the digits printed in highlighter green, shedding its small amount of light into the dark room and staining the wooden side table with its bright beams.

The sound of rasped breaths and stifled whimpers slowly lulled the silence as the silhouette sitting cuddled upon the bed slowly shifted, moving back and forth, muttering soft, almost inaudible words, in an attempt to control their violently trembling form.

"...s...op..."

"...Please...sto..p...it..."

Soft whimpers began to escalate becoming ragged, deep breaths and agonizing cries and pleas. The trembling form rocking faster, almost in sync, to each panting breath that left her lips. Sweat clustering her bangs unto her pale forehead as beads of sweat trickle down her fragile face, tracing her palish and tinted pink cheeks, following the trails left by her tears.

"-...Maya. Breathe;" came a soft whisper from beside her.

"Control yourself. I'm here now so breathe, I promise I'm right here." Soft ushers came from the figure that positioned himself to sit on the bedside, words reassuring her as his fingers entwined within her hair, soothing her to take small breaths.

"I'm here. It was just a dream." He whispered once again as her muffled cries subsided.

"...r...u..?"

"...u?" Came a mumbled reply from the petite, trembling form that stayed curled, hugging her knees and using them as a shield to hide her tear stricken face.

"Maya, it's okay, you'll remember. It was probably just a dream, nothing at all – Maya?"

"You're mine now; I promise nothing like that will ever happen to you again. Ever...I promise."
