Deidei--Hey all!! this just came to me on my way home from NJ this weekend. (Aug.8-Aug11)
it wasn't origionally RoyEd, but it fits, so deal with it.
Disclaimer: it's called fanfiction for a reason people. I own nothing but a few manga and a kyo plushie.
Roy drove to the church where Ed's funeral was being held. 'It should've been me.' He thought as he parked the car and looked in the passenger seat to see a shoebox overflowing with letters. The church doors opened wide and he lowered his hat slightly and looked down, trying to hide the tears. Then he heard the trumpets and fell to his knees.
It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen
All dressed in white
Going to the church that night
She had his box of letters in the passenger seat
Sixpence in a shoe, something barrowed, something blue
And when the church doors opened up wide
She put her veil down
Trying to hide the tears
Oh she just couldn't believe it
She heard trumpets from the military band
And the flowers fell out of her hand
Roy didn't bother to hide the tears anymore as he took the blonde's hand in his own.
The church choir stopped singing as Roy's words sang out.
"Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream"
The Preacher started to talk but Roy couldn't hear a thing he was saying over his heart breaking. He couldn't hear the sad song the choir started singing as the guard handed him a folded up Ametrisian flag. Roy held onto that flag for dear life. The guards lifted their guns and Roy could almost feel the bullets piercing his heart.
The preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray
Lord please lift his soul, and heal this hurt
Then the congregation all stood up and sang the saddest song that she ever heard
Then they handed her a folded up flag
And she held on to all she had left of him
Oh, and what could have been
And then the guards rang one last shot
And it felt like a bullet in her heart
He started to sing the words under his breath as they buried his love, and he was the last to leave his grave.
"Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream
Oh,
Baby why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
Oh, now I'll never know
It's like I'm looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream
Oh, this is just a dream
Just a dream
Yeah, Yeah"
