Dedicated to iamnumbernine and wingswordsandmetaphors because they reviewed my last story. The same goes for this one; the first person to review gets a dedication :)
About the story: I originally thought that Marius was Phineas Nigellus' son but after checking the Black family tree I realised that I was a generation off. So it's more how I picture Phineas' relationship with his son is than Cygnus'.
It shouldn't be so hard
He's just a squib (uselessworthless)
You shouldn't care
You shouldn't need him
(myson myboy)
You're supposed to be made of ice/diamond/rock
You shouldn't shatter soso quick soso easy
It's just a body
Just some blood
(why are you crying father?)
WifeyDearest doesn't care (he's nothing he's no one)
You can still see the blood
(out damned spot)
You've got other sons
Other heirs
So why do you break when he stops screaming
(*)
You're working now
All those children
Sometimes you see a flash of
(darkcurlyhair)
or
(iceblueeyes)
Sometimes you hear a flash of
(squawkinglaughter)
or
(voicelikeknives)
Sometimes you smell a hint of
(pinacoladasandmint)
or
(burningparchment)
But when you turn to see
He's
gone
gone
g
o
n
e
And all you see is
Blood
Blood
Blood
(out damned spot)
