Who are you?
He asks her one day, alone in her office.
It's a simple question really, and yet one to which she has no answer.
She tells him of digs and skeletons, of doctorates and of far away lands. Her hands reach for the photo album she keeps in a draw.
It's not the answer he wants and her hands never grasp the album.
He already knows Dr. Brennan the anthropologist. He wants to know Temperance, the woman behind the title.
Who are you?
He asks her once more.
And this time her answer is the one he desires.
