Chapter 1

Out in the horizon, the sun was rising over small canyons. A beautiful white dragon was standing on one of the canyons, overlooking them all. It was Princess Moonrise, second heir to the throne of Insomnia. She was the daughter of Nyx Ulric and Nova who then was given to King Regis to be taken care of. There she met Prince Noctis, Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis. They all went on a journey together but towards the end, Noctis sacrificed himself to save the world and also leaving Moonrise to the only living heir to the throne. Moonrise is half dragon, a Light Fury with Night Fury traits. Instead of having a long fin on her back, she has the small dorsal fins of a Night Fury, she has the tail of a Night Fury and she has a few black scales near her eyes. She has black hair, light-blue eyes, wearing a dark red ruffled dress and white heels. She wore a see through crystal that was given from her beloved: Ignis Scientia. She fell in love with him since she first met him. During their journey, she was considering wether to tell Ignis how she felt about him and in the end, she confessed and so did Ignis. In the ten year gap Moonrise was officially pronounced as a fiancé to Ignis. Now Moonrise was watching the sun rising over the canyons. Then Ignis walked up next to her. He was wearing his Crownsguard outfit and was wearing shades that were tinted. Ignis was blind, he sacrificed his vision to save Noctis and Moonrise. For now, Moonrise was his eyes. "You ready." Ignis told her softly. "Ready." she said telepathically. She and Ignis both developed telepathy so they can communicate when Moonrise is a dragon. Ignis went on her back, Moonrise spread her wings and they took off. They dove down the canyon they they curved upwards, scattering a few leaves on the ground. They veered left and right, up and under, enjoying the morning winds. As they were flying up towards the open sky, Moonrise spotted giant Imperial ships heading their way. "Imperial ships above us." Moonrise told Ignis. "Right." Ignis said as he summoned his Spell Daggers. So off they went, blasting and destroying the Imperial ships. After that, they headed back home to Insomnia. Inside the Citadel, the Crystal was safely locked tight and the Wall was up, protecting Insomnia. Moonrise blew a fiery portal and she teleported through there and came out on the other side of the Wall, inside Insomnia. "Wow, Insomnia sure is busy today." Moonrise said as she looked down at the streets of Insomnia. "Yes. Today is the day where you make a peace treaty with Nifilheim's new leader." Ignis said. "Oh right." Moonrise said flatly. They veered left, flying towards the Citadel. Below the stairs of the Citadel, Cor Leonis was waiting for them, well waiting for Moonrise. She landed and Ignis got off. Moonrise formed back into human, her wings, tail, and ears still visible, along with her black scales of course. She has a few white scales on the tip of her shoulders but were hardly visible. "Your late." Cor said to Moonrise. "I know, I know, tell the leader of Nifilheim that I'll be down in a moment." Moonrise said as she hurriedly ran up the stairs. "Apologies Cor, Moonrise and I were fighting off Imperial ships that were headed to Insomnia." Ignis said. Cor sighed and then said "Good. But make sure you get Moonrise here early next time." "Of course." Ignis said. Cor walked away and Ignis walked up the stairs of the Citadel. Inside the Citadel in the meeting room, the leader of Nifilehim, Norris, was speaking with his High Commander and his own Crownsguard. They were talking to each other until they heard the grand doors open to reveal Princess Moonrise. She was wearing a black dress with a golden sash around her waist with matching golden earrings and necklace. She had her wings folded neatly and her tail was gracefully moving behind her. "Why if it isn't Princess Moonrise." Norris said as he bowed along with his other two companions. "Your Majesty, I would like to introduce you to my High Commander Nark and my Crownsguard Luxes." Norris said. "Nark, Luxes." Moonrise said as she addressed them. "And where are yours?" Norris asked her. "Well..." Moonrise turned around to look at Gladiolus, Promoto, and Ignis. Gladiolus seemed to get the message for he muttered to Prompto and Ignis to walk towards Moonrise. "This is Gladiolus, my Shield." Moonrise said. "Oh. So it looks like you're going to be queen." Norris said. "Yes." Moonrise replied. "And this is Prompto, my Royal Messenger, and Ignis, my Royal Advisor." Moonrise said. "I see." Norris said. They all sat down around a long rectangular table and Norris started to speak to Moonrise. "So you do know that I came here to make peace with you, am I right?" Norris said. "Yes, you are correct." Moonrise said. "I apologize for my Imperial fleet that was heading your way. I heard they were destroyed. I assume it was you who did it because they described that it was a white dragon who was destroying the Imperial ships." Moonrise grew tense. "Yes, you are correct." Moonrise said. "I also apologize for destroying your ships but shouldn't you have orders them to stop?" Moonrise said. "Yes but I'll have you know most of Nifilehim seems to disobey my orders." Norris said. "We'll talk to them then. Let them vote for who can be the next leader." Moonrise said. "Besides I'm sure they're are more worthy people out there who could be the next leader." "Excuse me!?" Norris said, slamming his hands on the table. "Are you saying that I'm not worthy of being leader of Nifilehim!" Norris said angrily. "No! I'm just saying that their can be others who can be leader but you can still be next in line." Moonrise said. "And didn't you say that you would rather let the people of the city vote instead of having the next royal in line for the throne?" Norris said. "No, I'm just saying that would be a better idea." Moonrise said. "I'm sorry Your Highness but this peace treaty is over." Norris said and he and his two Crownsguard walked towards the door. "Wait Norris!" Moonrise said as she stood up. "I'm not going to make peace with a queen who doesn't know what she's doing." And with that he slammed the door shut, leaving Moonrise feeling defeated.

Chapter 2

Moonrise was sitting in her balcony looking up at the stars. "I figured you'd be here." a voice said behind her. "Hey Iggy." Moonrise said sadly. "Something wrong?" Ignis asked her. "Today was just awful!" Moonrise said putting her head in her hands. "It's only the first time." Ignis said. "Still, I don't think I'm a great queen. I don't see what King Regis or Noctis saw in me." Moonrise said. "Moonrise, look at me." Ignis said as he gently grabbed Moonrise' hands. Moonrise looked up at him. "What I see in you is that you are a beautiful, smart, clever, brave person I've ever met." Ignis said. "And no one knows that more than me." Moonrise smiled and she hugged him. "Thank you Ignis." she said. "My pleasure." Ignis said, returning the hug. After a moment Ignis got out of the hug and said "Now, let's head down to the back of the Citadel, Gladio, Prompto, and I have something special for you." "Really?" Moonrise said. She got up and she hooked her arm with Ignis and they walked towards the back of the Citadel. Once they got there, Moonrise' eyes lit up. There were lights hanging from porch, a fountain in the middle, different flowers on each side of the patio. "Oh! Ignis it's wonderful!" Moonrise said. "I had help from Gladio and Prompto." Ignis said. As they walked up to them, Prompto nearly tackled Moonrise into a hug. "Happy Birthday Moonrise!" he said. "Oh, um thank you Prompto. I forgot that it was my birthday." Moonrise said. "It's a good thing Ignis remembers your every birthday." Gladio said. "Really? You kept track of all my birthdays?" Moonrise asked. "Of course. I could never forget." Ignis responded. "Here open our gifts!" Prompto said as he handed Moonrise his gift. She opened it and took the item out of the box. It was a stuffed Chocobo. "Aww thanks Prompto. It's adorable." Moonrise said. "Your welcome." Prompto said. Next was Gladio's gift. He got her a pair of earrings. "Earrings Gladio? Didn't know you were the type to get these." Moonrise said playfully. "I kinda had help from Prompto. He told me what to get you." Gladio answered. Then it was Ignis' turn. "Here." he said as he gave her a small box. She grabbed it and opened it. What she saw made her fall silent. It was a necklace with different colored crystals. "Oh Ignis it's beautiful!" Moonrise breathed. "Each crystal symbolizes all the people that you love. Black for your father, pure white for your mother, midnight-blue for Noct, gold for King Regis," He stopped as he took something out of his pocket. "This. Purple for me." He handed the purple crystal to Moonrise. "Ignis, I don't know what to say." she said. She had tears in her eyes. "Thank you." "Your welcome my love." Ignis said. After the emotional gift-opening it was time for dancing. "We brought a guest for you." Gladio said. "You have?" Moonrise asked. Then that someone walked out, it was Cor. "Cor?" Moonrise said. "King Regis may not be here to dance with you, nor your father, but it would be an honor to take that place." Cor said. "Cor of course you can. You were like a second father to me after King Regis and my father passed away." Moonrise said. Cor gave her a small smile. So Cor and Moonrise started dancing for awhile then Gladio and Prompto started dancing free style, Moonrise joined in and Cor stepped to the side lines. Then Ignis and Moonrise started a romantic dance. Ignis had his hands on her lower back, slightly above her tail. Moonrise had her hands on the middle of his back and her head against his chest. "I thought dragons don't purr." Ignis said. "They don't but this one does." Moonrise said. Ignis smiled and kissed the top of her head. "Who knew Ignis and Moonrise would be together like this." Prompto said to Gladio. He has his arms crossed and Gladio has his hands on his hips. "I know. It's pretty hard to imagine. Yet here we are." Gladio said. Later that night everyone was in bed. Prompto and Gladio were sharing a bed and Ignis and Moonrise were sharing one. Moonrise was having a nightmare, a nightmare of her past. She saw flames, dark dragons fighting light dragons, then a face with red eyes. She woke up with a start with slight sweat. She looked towards her left to see Ignis still asleep. She did not wake him thankfully. She got out of bed and walked out on the balcony. She raised her hand to touch the pure white crystal hanging around her neck. "Mother, if your there, please tell me I'm not the only one." she said softly. After a moment, she went back to sleep.

Chapter 3

Moonrise and Gladio were training. Moonrise just blocked an attack from Gladio and she flew back down on the ground, out of breath. "Is that all you've got?" Gladio asked challenging her. "No, I just got started." Moonrise said. She dismissed her staff and she formed into a dragon and rose up in the air. She hovered for a moment then with her claws outstretched she lunged towards Gladio. But then Moonrise started to have visions of her nightmare and Gladio noticed that she was coming to fast. Moonrise cleared the visions away but at the last minute, she saw Gladio trying to tell her to slow down but was too late. She collided with Gladio and they both tumbled to the ground. She fell on the floor and automatically formed back into a human. "Moonrise!" Gladio said as he got up and ran over to her. Moonrise got up on her knees. "Are you alright?" Gladio asked her. "I'm fine." Moonrise said. "What happened back there?" Gladio asked concerned. "I don't know. I saw visions but were blurry and coming in too fast." Moonrise replied. "Are those crystals suppose to glow?" Gladio asked as he saw the crystals around Moonrise's neck. She looked down and saw two crystals were glowing, the clear one and the pure white one. "No. They're not. When did they start to glow?" Moonrise asked him. "Just now." Gladio answered. "No I don't think they're supposed to glow." Moonrise said again. "Let's see if Iggy knows anything." Gladio said standing up. "Alright. Wouldn't hurt to ask." Moonrise said as she got up as well. They walked through the hallways towards the library. Once they entered, they saw Ignis going through some books. "Hey Iggy we need your help." Gladio said. "What do you need help with?" Ignis asked. "Well the clear crystal and the pure white crystal started glowing at the end of training." Moonrise explained. "They did?" Ignis said. "Yes and they're still glowing." Moonrise said. "Do you have any books on crystals?" "Hmm. Let me go see." Ignis said as he walked through the aisles of books. After a few minutes Ignis came out with a few books stacked in his hands. "Here we are," he said as he placed the books on a table. "Everything about crystals." Gladio, Moonrise, and Ignis started looking through each book. After an hour, they found nothing. Moonrise sighed and sat down on one of the chairs. "Don't lose hope my love. We'll find the reason why." Ignis said. "It's just that I've been having these dreams and visions of my past. Of my birth home." Moonrise said. "Right. It looked like you had one during training." Gladio said. "You did?" Ignis asked, his head turned to Moonrise. "Yes. I had a nightmare last night." she said. "Why didn't you tell me?" Ignis asked. "I didn't want to worry you guys." Moonrise simply said. "Moonrise you wanted answers to know where you came from. I think that is the answer." Ignis said as he pointed to the crystals. "Sounds like we're going on another adventure." Gladio said. "No, me and Ignis are going on an adventure." Moonrise said. "What? Why?" Gladio asked. "Gladio," Moonrise started, looking at him in the eye. "I need someone who can look after Insomnia while I'm gone and as future queen I want you and Prompto to stay here and look after the city." "Right. You've got it." Gladio said and he walked out of the library to tell Prompto. "Are you sure about this love?" Ignis asked. "Yes. I have to find the home of where I came from. I have to find the home where my mother once lived."
