Annie pushed the words back. The entire time she had been back she felt herself loosing it.
It wasn't like she was letting her emotions interfere with the job, if anything she was doing the exact opposite.
Her brick walls began to crack once she found her way back home; back to Auggie. So she replaced them with something stronger, but something suffocating.
She wanted I release what she was feeling, but the barrier wouldn't break. She felt like she was drowning in her brain.
Sliding down the wall she wanted to cry, but no tears came. She made horrible sobbing nosies, but no tears.
She felt so alone, isolated, helpless, hopeless, ruined, terrified, panicked, scared, devastated, yet her once best friend was just a phone call away.
She wants to trust Auggie and Joan she wanted to trust McQuaid in Venezuela, but she couldn't. She can't understand why.
In times like these she wished she could have died.
So for now she does what she has always done best, push her feelings down, get up, and do the job.
