Prilla was a fairy. But she was also a little more. You see, when Sara Quirtle (the baby that had created her) laughed, some of her stuck with Prilla when she first became a fairy. In consequence, Prilla said words and phrases such as "Pardon me," and "Sorry," and fairies don't say these things.

Prilla also had a very rare "talent," but it wasn't really a talent at all. She could blink over to the mainland and visit human children. The explanation for this, was that Prilla's heart was confused. She was physically fairy, but mentally human, so she sometimes visited children in order to satisfy her heart.

In her first few weeks of life, Prilla went on a fantastic quest to save Never Land. When she returned, many fairies welcomed her as an honorary member of their talent guild. Since her mind had not yet found her true talent, she was able to do many different talent acts. Her favorite guild was the harvesting talents.

Even when she arrived, she was much like them, more so than any of the other talents. She loved harvesting with them, and they loved her help, because it was clear to them that she was, in fact, a harvesting talent, not a "mainland-visiting" talent. Her mind just hadn't realized it yet.

They wanted her to find out on her own, so they didn't mention it.

As time passed, Prilla found that she didn't like any of the talents except the harvesters, and began spending more time with them than with anybody else.

One day, at tea time, she suddenly blurted out "I don't like the other talents!" Immediately she put both hands over her mouth, and glanced around. Luckily, no one had heard but her table, the harvesters. They all looked at each other and smiled. A fairy named Rizzy spoke up, "Yeah, we know. We've seen how distracted you look." All of the sudden Prilla said "My name is Prilla. I am a Harvesting Talent fairy."

Instantly, all of her human mentality left her. She blinked a few times, then smiled as a shimmer burst around her, and replaced the outfit she was wearing with a new arrival garment.

In her hawthorn, Mother Dove felt the presence of a new fairy. But at the same time, she felt a fairy die. She asked Beck, the animal fairy attending her, if there had been a new arrival. Beck replied that if there had been, they would've known. Mother Dove shrugged it off and let Beck continue brush her feathers. What Mother Dove felt was the old Prilla die, and the TRUE Prilla finally be born.

The news about Prilla spread quickly, and although everyone was happy that she had found her place, a few were quite sad that she wouldn't be spending as much time with them.

Prilla, however, was happier than she'd ever been. She was still the same, in the sense that she was still the flipping, cart-wheeling fairy she had been, but she no longer said human words and phrases, and she never "blinked" over to the mainland again.

But she didn't mind, now that she'd actually found her talent.

Now that she'd found her family.
