Note: Well, this is the follow-up to my last poem Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been..? based on my other favourite episode of Angel! I hope you enjoy it, and please review.

WAITING IN THE WINGS

a Hannibal poem by JetNoir

a cargo boat sails across the southern moons

sweeping me away from your arms

your muse, my Dante, to another world

i scream at you: tell me the truth

reveal to me the beast inside

what are you?

your wounded face, hurts my soul

as i reach the realisation that

i never knew a wolf could cry

night is upon us, and our dance is eternal

the stars our lonely witnesses

on a lake of unbreakable ice

there is nothing left but misery

and pain, as i stand, straight and tall

and wait patiently in the wings
