Two teenagers stood apart from each other on the beach, the sun high and bright in the noon a drake flew along, high in the sky.
"Silas, are you ready?" Was the voice coming from a monk, Standing away from the two teenagers.
One in a black cloak with the hood down, his untidy black hair blowing wildly in the wind giving a better view of his face a few zits dotting his face and his eyes closed in concentration as he drew in mana.
He opened his eyes and trained them on his opponent, his best friend from a young age, he, like their sensei, was the spitting image of a traditional monk.
Silas had always had a strong rivalry with him, but he had never been able to best his prodigy of a friend, who was allowed into the monk's order, while Silas was said to have no magical talent. The man who is now their Sensei caught his friend bringing him food from the order and trying to teach him magic after Silas' parents died. They were terrified of the consequences, but the kindly man had simply sat down and offered more food. Over time, he taught Silas magic in secret and how to live off the land.
"Yes, sensei." Silas replied, feeling a strong enough mana connection.
"Farius, are you ready?" Asked their sensei, turning to the newly identified Farius.
"So, ready to finally lose to me, Farius?" Asked Silas, smirking.
"Ha, in your dreams." Replied Farius, also smirking.
Silas made the first move, loosing A small blast of white magic from his hand feeling the familiar warm and calming sensation of the white mana exploding out.
Farius reacted flawlessly, knocking it aside with a bubble of green mana coating his hand, Silas was already right in front of him, short sword falling down on his friend, confident that Farius would be able to counter. He did, of course, moving out of the way and kicking Me in the gut, I involuntarily bent over, and got kicked in the face.
I flared my mana the soothing and healing white mana numbing the pain, still hurt like a bitch, though.
I rolled out of the way as a wolf pounced on where I just was. The beast quickly turned to me and released a primal growl. I lifted my hand and a white blade shot out and hit the wolf just as it was almost on me, making it burst into green mana and rejoining the Æther. I rolled out of the way as a green bubble of mana slammed into the ground where I was. I jumped up and started charging mana, when a roar made me turn around just as the hand of a baloth hit me on the head.
Just as the darkness took my vision away, I mentally swore at my failure.
I know it was short, I just need to know if it's any good.
