Summary: Kathryn solves the puzzle of why
Chakotay was acting so strangely during "Endgame."
Disclaimer:
I don't own them, but I do think those who do own them screwed them
up. This is my attempt to correct one of their many errors.
Author's
note: Part of the credit for this drabble must go to Gates Hepburn,
out with whom I was hanging when the plot bunny struck. Obviously,
she's part carrot (which may be why she likes hanging out with
peas).
The moment Chakotay refused Kathryn's lunch invitation, citing "other plans," she knew something was wrong.
"Chakotay, come here," she ordered.
"Hey, what are you doing?" he protested as she reached down and lifted up his pant leg.
"Aha!" she exclaimed as she removed the device, causing him to shimmer out of existence.
Her eyes narrowed with accusation as she tapped her communicator.
Five minutes later, Seven of Nine stood in front of an irate captain. "Tell me," Janeway ordered, "where you put the real Chakotay, or I will finish the job he started just after you first came on board."
