A/N: Originally meant for my Soup Series but when I narrowed it down to a hundred words I didn't like it as well.
Disclaimer: No ownership of CSI is implied.
She asked him out. He said no.
She asked him over for a cup of coffee and small talk. He turned her down, he could feel the undertones of her seemingly innocuous invitation. (And they weren't at all innocent in nature.)
Finally, frustrated, she dropped all pretenses and asked him –pointedly- for one night. One night only –for them to get whatever there was, whatever there might be, out of their system and be done with it.
He said no. Again. Because he knew –he knew- that one night with her wouldn't be enough, not nearly enough.
It wasn't that he was unwilling –that he didn't want her, didn't desire her- it was because he was unsure of himself, of the situation, and that was something he wasn't used to feeling.
A/N2: Comments are always welcome.
