Naruto no Kaizoku: Yume wo Sagashite

Summary: Uzumaki Naruto is on a voyage to become the Rokudaime, the sixth pirate king of that era. On his journey with his crew, secrets are revealed and they take a detour. AU fic. First mate!Sasuke, Doctor!Sakura and others too.
Title: Naruto no Kaizoku means Naruto Pirates. Yume wo Sagashite literally means 'to locate/to find out/to discover dreams'.

Chapter One
.: "I'm going to be the Rokudaime-ttebayo," – Uzumaki Naruto :.
Uzumaki Naruto ran his hand through his unruly blond locks as he grinned at his cook, Akimichi Chouji. He thanked Chouji and said, "Itadakimasu," before taking in the ramen his cook had served him.
Chouji sighed looking around the empty and not-so-impressive ship, "Naruto, we won't last long at this rate."
Naruto just looked him blankly awaiting further explanation.
Chouji made an impatient sound but started talking anyway. He was so used to the way Naruto was. "Well, Captain, Don't you think it's about time we find some other crewmates? We cannot keep traveling on the sea just the two of us, without even a navigator. Seriously, do you have any idea what you are doing? We have been out in this sea for more than a week. We have not even stopped at any of the lands we have crossed and you haven't even told me anything about your plans. Do you even have any idea where we are heading!?"
"I do," Naruto simply said in a carefree manner and went back to his ramen, eating it happily and rather sloppily, to be exact.
"You do?" Chouji asked surprised, "Where are we heading?"
Naruto ignored the question and asked, "What do you mean we won't last long at this rate? We are doing well, aren't we? This ramen is awesome. You are great with food as always, Chouji"
"I am talking about the ship, of course!" Chouji said sounding annoyed but he was obviously pleased with the compliment, "It isn't even in a proper shape to go to all places. If we are ambushed, the ship won't even last for a second. Have you ever thought of that?"
Naruto lazily replied, "I have." It wasn't often Chouji questioned him.
"So," Chouji said, "Where and how do you intend on getting a new ship?"
Naruto really did not want to scare his cook; friend for long time. That's why he hadn't explained much since they left Konoha, his hometown. Where they were heading was not exactly Chouji's kind of place and he knew his cook would protest but what Naruto had learnt from his sixteen years of experience was that he was a bad liar. Naruto sighed and closed his eyes as he said, "The Uchiha Island."
Naruto almost laughed out aloud seeing the expression on his first crewmate. After another minute of hyperventilating and turning weird purple, Chouji choked out, "What?"
"Uchiha Island."
"What? Why? I mean, you know about that island, don't you?"
"Uh-huh."
Chouji sighed, knowing that his captain was getting into one of his 'moods'. He asked tentatively, "Why exactly are we going there? To test your skills?"
"Uh-huh."
The only two pirates on the ship fell silent. Naruto was busy with his ramen and Chouji was wondering if his captain was right in the head and whether coming with his friend to the sea was really a good option. Then he remembered how Naruto had declared when they were young to his father's crew, "I'm going to be a pirate," for the first time and how he repeatedly said it everyday and now here he was, ready to go after his dreams. Somehow and someway, Naruto had been everything he wanted to be.
At dusk, Naruto no Kaizoku reached the Uchiha island and Naruto literally bounced out of the ship and started walking as if he already known this place but the air of confidence Naruto had around him made look as if he owned the island.
Naruto was grinning and running towards the deserted Uchiha village. He could not help but feel a little happy and a little guilty of being here. No, he was not new here or anything. In fact, he had stayed here when he was 9 years old, when he had snuck into his father's pirate ship. His father had been surprised to find his brat aboard and decided to leave him with the Uchihas (who were friends with Namikaze Minato, his father.)
He could still remember that year very clearly and the person who took all of his attention. He couldn't wait to see him.
Chouji asked, "You know where you're heading?"
"No," Naruto said truthfully as Chouji sighed.
After five minutes of running around, Naruto spotted a huge cliff that brought memories. He climbed it and shouted at the top of his lungs.
"I'm going to become to Rokudaime-ttebayo!!" Naruto yelled to the sea.
Chouji hit Naruto over his head, "Don't go yelling that around on the Uchiha Island! What if the survivor of the Uchiha Massacre heard you? I hear he's a great swordsman, we're bound to get sliced!!"
"Shika?" Sasuke asked, turning around to see the other only human being on the Uchiha Island.
Shikamaru smiled lazily, "Who else? Expecting more pirates for you to slice 'em up?"
Sasuke rolled his eyes, "Yeah. As if those ungrateful rotten pirates would ever dare to land on this island. Besides, it's been six months since I've seen a pirate on my land." The way Sasuke said pirates spitefully made Shikamaru grimace. "Anyway, why are you here?"
"Visiting you, why else? There isn't anything worth coming to the Uchiha Island, you know."
Sasuke looked offended. "Anything worth? I'll let you know that this island was really famous for everything. All those well-known pirates and even the pirate kings respected our island and heck; I'd say they wouldn't make it so far if it weren't for us. But how did they repay us? Those damn pirates took everything from mewith his help…everything...That ungrateful lot and I still can't believe...He…did it." Sasuke didn't talk afterwards.
The two friends walked in silence.
Nara Shikamaru was probably the only one who actually knew all about Sasuke. He would have been proud to say so if his said Uchiha friend wasn't scary. Sasuke was the only resident of the Uchiha Island for six years. He was a pirate hunter. A very young skilled swordsman. A man worth respecting but Sasuke was ruthless when it came to pirates. Shikamaru knew this was because of the young Uchiha's hatred for pirates.
Sasuke's idol, his own brother, Itachi had joined a pirate crew called Akatsuki. The said Akatsuki with his brother massacred the living humans on the island except his brother It seemed that Itachi had wanted to join Akatsuki and since he was the heir of the Uchiha clan, he was not supposed to leave the Uchiha Island and take over as their leader. When Itachi had expressed his desire to join Akatsuki, his father didn't want him to. It was his father's great ambition to make Itachi their leader and so, the quarrel between the son and the father began.
To end their dispute, Itachi with his Akatsuki had finished off the whole island save his brother. At least this was what Shikamaru had heard from Sasuke.
Shikamaru knew Sasuke for 5 years. Shikamaru's father was the one who was in charge of the refugees of the massacre. Sasuke, the only refugee, was brought to their home. After a year, Sasuke had gone back to living in the Uchiha Island alone.
When Sasuke was fourteen, he started out his job as a pirate hunter. His sole aim was to kill Akatsuki.
Coming back to the present, Sasuke said, "Well, you better go back, I'm setting out again tonight. A mission."
"Another pirate slaying mission?"
"Yeah."
"How troublesome…can't you-," Shikamaru began, only to get interrupted.
"No, I won't and can't quit!" Sasuke said fiercely, "Go away."
Shikamaru rolled his eyes. Sasuke had said 'Go away' rather childishly.
When Shikamaru was about to retort, a loud voice caught both his and Sasuke's attention.
"I'm going to be the Rokudaime-ttebayo!"
Shikamaru shook his head, "Someone is crazy enough to yell it out and let Sasuke hear it…" Sasuke was already moving in the direction of the voice with his katana whipped out.
It was going to be troublesome, but Shikamaru wanted to see the person who was brave or dumb enough to yell it on the Uchiha Island. And so, Shikamaru followed Sasuke, who was enraged.
Oh boy, it was going to be fun.

A/N: You must have understood the terms. Like, I'm using the Hokage for Pirate King, and the Rokudaime is the sixth hokage and all. Also, Kyuubi will be in this fic, will introduce it later.
