Silent Lakeside Revelations
Disclaimer: Not mine. I repeat, it belongs to J.K Rowling and not me!
Sitting there at the side of the lake, the brunette realised what her heart had been trying to tell her for months. She was in love with her best friend. In itself that was a hard enough concept to deal with anyway, but for Hermione, it was like a silent torture.
Ever since her first year at the school she had become almost inseparable from her two best friends. Everyone believed that one of the two would end up marrying her. Of course, they all believed it would be the one she could not bring herself to love more than a brother. The other boy, in turn, would never see her more than a sister and yet he unknowingly held her heart in his hand. She had already decided that she could never tell him her true feelings. She did not want to ruin their friendship.
The wind picked up around her, whipping her robes away from her muggle clothes so that they looked more like a cape. Yet the girl was too lost in her own thought to pay the weather any kind of attention. She was so lost in her own mind that she did not notice the rain start to fall around her.

The raven haired boy walked up behind his best friend. The rain was now pounding down upon his face but he did not care. Had he been looking out of a window back at the castle when he had noticed the young woman that had stolen his heart. She appeared to be lost in thought as the tempest-like weather started to storm around her. Without thinking, he left the warm confines of the castle and made his way down to her place by the lake.

Hermione, even lost her in solitary mind, felt his presence as he walked up behind her and gently placed his strong arms around her petite waist. She knew who it was without turning her head: she could recognise his distinct smell anywhere. It was something completely him.
She felt his warm gaze upon her face. Turning her face slightly, she suddenly realised how close their faces were to each other. She could see the rain running unnoticed down his cheeks, matching the tracks that were running down her own face. Neither seemed to care.
Almost painfully slowly, yet neither knowing who made the first move, their lips drew together in their first sweet kiss. It only lasted a few seconds as their mouths caressed each other gently, yet that short period of time was all it took to reveal the feelings both of them had kept hidden for so long.
They did not need words to know that they both felt the same way. Hermione slowly pulled back away from the kiss and knew, just by looking into his eyes, that they would be together for a very long time. Just her and Harry.
And around them the rain pounded on.
