Ahem. Hello, Pokemon Fandom! I have been an avid fanfic reader for a few months now, and have decided to create an account to start writing a story after learning about Sword and Shield. I'm really excited about everything concerning these games, but one thing that stood out to me the most was the player characters. Especially the female. They look so amazing and I can feel so much potential for a good story involving them. Add that to the fact that I'm a big fan of the anime and... there you go. A user named Galar Region Ash attempting to write a fanfic with Ash and the female Galar girl going through this region together. Let's get right into this!
Welcome... to the world of Pokemon.
This world contains many different regions, and each region is home to these amazing beings known as Pokemon. These creatures have lived alongside humans for many thousands of years. People and Pokemon play together and they work together; this is commonplace amongst all regions of the Pokemon world.
There was one region though, in which these facts were particularly truthful. This region was called the Galar region. Aside from its countryside, where people and Pokemon could enjoy very relaxed lifestyles, a lot of Galar was very industrialized as well. People and Pokemon were together responsible for the industries that made up such an integral part of the region.
Delia Ketchum was sure that this would be a great region for her son to explore next. Her son, named Ash, had recently come home after traveling through the Johto region. He was actively trying to decide which region he wanted to visit next. Delia couldn't wait for the surprise she and Professor Oak had cooked up for him for his thirteenth birthday.
Delia paused what she was currently doing and looked up at the clock.
"Ash, it's time to us to go see Professor Oak," she yelled in the direction of the stairway to Ash's bedroom.
She distinctly heard Ash reply "Coming!", and a short time later, said boy came running down the stairs with his trusty Pikachu secured on his shoulder.
Ash was still the excitable, ready-for-the-next-adventure boy he was at the age of ten, but over the past three years, he had become a bit more mature, was now over five feet tall, and was a pretty strong Pokemon trainer. Delia was confident that Ash would actually win the next Pokemon League he participated in.
Together with Delia, Ash made his way to Professor Oak's lab. He actually didn't know what he was going to the professor's lab for. But when he got there, it turned out that he was being thrown a surprise birthday party. Gary Oak, Tracey, and all of his Pokemon caught in the regions he traveled through thus far were there.
Ash was very excited and thankful for this birthday party, but the best part was the surprise that Delia had for him. When Delia told Ash that they were going to be going on vacation to Galar, Ash was at first shocked, but then thrilled. More thrilled than he usually got. Professor Oak had also given Ash a DVD that was a documentary about the Galar region.
Later that evening, Ash and Pikachu came up into Ash's bedroom to watch the Galar film. He just couldn't wait to begin learning about this region.
"You ready to find out what the Galar region is like, buddy?" Ash asked Pikachu.
"Pika-pika!" Pikachu replied with a nod.
"Then let's begin!" Ash declared, starting the film. He then sat down and began to watch.
Ash learned quite a bit from watching the documentary. He learned about just a few of the Pokemon that were exclusive to Galar, as well as of the presence of some familiar Pokemon that he saw in Kanto or Johto.
One of the things that got Ash particularly excited for visiting this region was the way gyms worked. Gyms were scattered throughout the region like normal, but each gym had a massive stadium built into it. It was rather apparent that gym matches in Galar were like sporting events, and taken very seriously.
Ash felt fully ready to go and visit Galar after watching the documentary, and was already beginning to think that this may be the region he would travel through next.
And I'm going to be ending the chapter here for now. I know that this is probably way too short for a first chapter, but I wanted to get a little something out there to get feedback on... as well as get the knowledge out there that I'm going to be doing this. My chapters will likely be edited and revised in the future. I'd like to hear your thoughts on Sword and Shield. What do you think about it?
