Chapter one: Disaster

"Don't do this to me Naruto…please don't."

She cried, feeling her heart breaking. Hot ashes landed on her body as the roof above her threatened to crack under the pressure of fire. Screams could be heard outside but strangely enough they seemed muffled. Her head spun and her body screamed.

It shouldn't be like this. It shouldn't be like this…

It was her mantra as she struggled to stand, her weakened body shaking with the exertion.

It shouldn't. It shouldn't.

But it was.

She fell.

"Don't Naruto! You're betraying your people, your friends…you're killing us!"

She snarled only to end up coughing when ashes were inhaled. Red covered her fingers, and she stared at them, horrified.

Blood.

"Oi Hinata! Stop it. You'll only hurt yourself further!"

His voice scolded her in a tone so familiar, it hurt. Slowly her eyes came up, watching the sad yet sadistic smile play on his once perfect lips. The urge to hurl was quickly becoming apparent.

His tall lean figure was like a huge shadow over her, and she suddenly wished she had seen him for what he was a long time ago.

A Death angel.

Her shattered monster...

"Oh, Hinata chan don't cry", Naruto said softly in that cheery way of his, bending to kiss her forehead and wipe away her tears. His rough lips were gentle against her blistered skin.

"It will all be over soon…"

With that he walked away from her, the ashes swarming around him in a cloud. Through the haze she could make out another figure in the shadows. Long, dark and sinister. Another angel…

No.

A snake.

Maroon eyes gazed at her carelessly, that damned smirk playing on his handsome features as he slowly walked up to her.

"Thank you Hinata…for taking care of him…"

He murmured, looking her straight in the eye. Red and white.

With a quick peck on the cheek and a gust of ash, she found the two gone; leaving her alone to face the hell she had created

Hinata found herself staring up, wide eyed, at a white ceiling. Silver light snuck up on her and her lover, who was still fast asleep, sprawled across the sheets like a two year old. Sweat coated her body like a second skin and her heart raced.

That dream again…
