Hey, guys! So, I made this fanfic, but I deleted it because I thought it wasn't good enough. But after long time thinking and some inspiration, I decided to make editing and revisions to the story! Now it's kinda going on a different path, so hopefully, this'll be good!

Disclaimer: Mage of Hope doesn't own Sonic Series, only the OCs!

A few years before the events of the Chaos War...

"After him! Don't let him escape!"

Team Chaotix, a team of skilled fighters as well as detectives, were chasing down an infamous thief known as White Hood, who apparently stole from some money from a bank. There wasn't much money stolen, but robbery was still a robbery, and Team Chaotix was determined to catch themselves a thief. Waiting in their detective office was boring, and it wasn't everyday that they found themselves in a chase after a well-known thief.

The White Hood was currently leaping from building to building, garbed in nothing but a white cloak that covered most of his body while holding a bag of money he stole. The only thing significant about his identity were the two rabbit ears hidden under his hoodie, meaning the thief was a rabbit. It didn't help that the rabbit thief was wearing a mask to conceal his face.

Team Chaotix were running across streets, trying to catch up to the thief. "Guys, at this rate, he'll outrun us and we'll lose him! We need a strategy, and fast!"

"I got it!" exclaimed Vector. "Okay, I'll remain on the ground, and Espio and Charmy, you two go up. Espio, use your invisibility powers to try and grab the thief! Charmy, you're taking to the skies and serving as a distraction! I'll try and meet up with you guys and then try and block the thief's paths!"

With a sound plan, both Espio and Charmy nodded before proceeding with the plan. Vector continued running forward, Espio made a left turn and proceeded to climb up the walls by sticking onto them and climbing upwards, and Charmy simply flew up to the skies.

'These guys are persistent!' thought White Hood, glancing behind his shoulder that Charmy was getting closer.

"We've got the white freak now! Espio, quick! Capture him!" cried out Charmy.

'Hmm?' Noticing a shadow-like silhouette on the grounds he was approaching due to the heavy moonlight, the White Hood's instincts told him that heading forward was too dangerous, but still proceeded forward.

'Almost there...He's almost within my grasps!' thought Espio, ready to snatch White Hood and pin him down. He was grateful for his camouflage ability, which made him practically invisible. There was no way this plan was going to get screwed up!

Squinting his eyes, White Hood suddenly leapt high just as Espio was about to capture him. Deciding to test something, White Hood then landed onto Espio's shadow, which was kinda where Espio was, feeling something underneath him before bouncing off Espio and landing a safe distance and sliding across the grounds of the top of the building, surprised to see Espio's camouflage wearing off.

"Damnit! How'd he know?" questioned Espio, shaking his head. "Well, it doesn't matter! White Hood, you're surrounded! There's no other buildings you can jump to! They're too far away, anyways! Surrender now!"

Like Espio said, the only buildings White Hood could gain access were already the ones he was leaping off off, and the next set of buildings were several distances away, too far for even White Hood to make a jump of. Plus, their crocodile companion, Vector was below the building, reaching out his arms as though he was anticipating that White Hood would try and jump.

"..."

Impatient with no response coming from the thief, Charmy flew forward. "Alright, that's it! I'm taking him out!"

"Charmy, no!" cried out Espio.

'No other choice! Sayonara!' White Hood thought, throwing down two smoke bombs at the same time. One thrown at the grounds of the building, and one flung towards Vector below, covering Team Chaotix in nothing but heaps of smoke blocking their vision.

"Don't breath it in!" shouted Espio, covering his mouth.

Taking the distraction as a chance to escape, White Hood extended his arm, revealing a wrist-mounted grappling hook in which the grappling hook was fired and stabbed at a part of one of the other buildings several distances away, prompting White Hood to jump off the building he was on before swinging forward and landing on the other side of the building before making his escape.

Once the smoke cleared, there were no signs nor traces or White Hood anywhere. Disappointed, Team Chaotix regrouped with each other and started to head back home.

"Man! I can't believe that we lost White Hood! We were so close!" complained Charmy. "And I was having so much fun chasing down a thief!"

"Well, most of the fault lies with you, Charmy! If you haven't been patient enough, then we might have had a chance!" argued Vector.

"I didn't see you do anything!"

"Hey, at least I gave out the plans!"

"Enough," spoke Espio. "None of this is anyone's fault. There were just a few, honest mistakes. We should take this failure as a lesson so that we never have to experience this again."

Vector sighed. "Fine, fine...So, what do you guys want for dinner?"

"Candy!"

"Charmy, you can't have candy for dinner! It's not good for you!"

"Whyyyyy?"

Meanwhile...

Entering a bathroom, White Hood sighed in exhaustion before removing his mask and taking off the cloak, allowing them to fall to the ground. The disguises were overwhelming and annoying, but worth it if they kept him out of trouble.

Well, more like getting her out of trouble, considering the person behind the identity of White Hood is none other than a female wolf.

Her fur was verdant green along with her long hair, which appeared silky and touched downwards to her waist. She removed the fake rabbit ears from her head, causing her soft fox ears to twitch as her sharp, cold, blue-colored eyes stared back at her from her own reflection at the mirror. She sighed and washed her face with water.

As she was removing her disguise and cleaning things up, she winched in pain as she held her side. Her heists throughout the years may have helped gained her experience in many things, but being rewarded with the consequences such as wounds was always terrible. Hopefully, her brother never notices her wounds.

Exiting the bathroom, the female wolf entered the hotel room she and her little brother were staying in. Unlike her, her little brother was so kind and energetic, having no clue of her robbery habits as his sister have done them secretly, taking not too much, but not so little money to support her and her brother. Both were homeless, but they constantly traveled to a lot of places throughout the years.

The female wolf was about to wake her brother up, intent on giving him something when she noticed the wrist watch gadget he made for her. It was a simple birthday present given to her by her little brother, as he was a skilled and genius inventor. How disappointed would her brother be if he knew she was using his gift to steal, even if it was to support the both of them.

Shaking such thoughts out of her head, the female wolf shook her brother by the shoulders. "Arf? Arf, wake up. I have something for you."

The young boy named Arf grumbled in his sleep before waking up. "Sis? What's up? It's way past 10..."

"Sorry, but I wanted to get you something for your birthday. An apology gift," replied the female wolf, handing him a gift. "We missed your birthday last week, and I wanted to get you this."

Curious, Arf took the gift and unwrapped it before squealing out of excitement. "Oh, gosh! Is this...Is this the limited edition Sonic figurine?! They're so rare that they're expensive at toy stores! Where'd you find one?!"

"In a toy store, Arf. Happy birthday," said the female wolf, patting her brother on the shoulder. Crawling onto the bed with him, she wrapped her arms around her brother, embracing him and his new toy tightly.

Used to his sister's constant hugs, Arf smiled and hugged back, loving the warmth of his sister along with the joy of getting a rare Sonic toy before falling asleep. His birthday gift may have come late, but his sister was still considerate of him.

In actuality, Revya didn't buy the rare Sonic figurine, but rather, she stole it from the toy store. Before she rushed to the bank and stole some money, she used her thieving skills to infiltrate the toy store and steal one of them as quickly and quietly as she could. The figurines happen to be the most expensive toys in the store, so no way was she going to buy them, not that she was going to ever admit that to Arf.

"Thanks, Revya...Goodnight..." yawned Arf, cuddling closer to his sister.

The female wolf named Revya gazed down at Arf; her normally ice cold eyes softening as she allowed her beloved brother to grow closer to her. "Night, night, birthday boy."

Despite the kindness she showed only to her brother, Revya knew deep down that she wasn't kind. She was a thief, someone who committed bad crimes just to get food on the table and get through life. The only reason why Revya continued traveling around the world with her brother is so they wouldn't stay in one place for so long. Throughout the years, while her thieving skills have improved, she knew that such skills wouldn't lead to a happy future.

Revya did want to get a job but knew that job applications checked her background. If the police were to learn that she and Arf were orphans, they might sent them to orphanages and they may get separated, something Revya wasn't willing to take. Once she was an adult, however, then she'd be able to properly take care of Arf. She only hoped that things didn't end up bad in the future.

Hope I portrayed the characters correctly! Also, more of my female OC's backstory will be revealed much later, along with her name! Don't worry too much of the details! I hope I did a good job and left a good impression!
