"Come on Chris!" Gwen shouted to her husband as she unlocked the door to their hotel room. When the door opened their two kids ran straight to their beds and jumped up and down. "Don't jump on the beds!"
Chris then came struggling in with all of their bags and dropped them on the floor.
"Be careful with those". Gwen got her phone out of her pocket and called her mum to tell her about the hotel, every time they went somewhere knew the first thing she would do was give a review to her mum.
With the kids sat on the bed watching the tv and Gwen on the phone, Chris felt like he wasn't needed.
"I'm goingdown stairs for a drink". No reply. Feeling out of place he walked out the door and straight to the bar. As he sat on the stool he saw one of the bartenders and called her over.
"What can I get you?" She asked. Chris sat in silence for a few minutes staring at her long light brown hair and her bright green eyes. "Sir." She had a northern English accent which directly mixed with his southern English accent. "Sir, are you ok?"
"Yes, yes sorry. Erm... I'll just have a.. a pint. Please." Chris struggled to get any words out of his mouth and could barely breathe whilst she made his drink.
"There you go" She handed him the drink as he gave her the money, a direct exchange as if it had been rehearsed. She smiled and walked to the other side of the bar to see another customer, his eyes followed her the entire way.
'Wow' he thought to himself. His pint had disappeared quicker then it arrived.
"Would you like another one?" The barmaid asked.
"No, thank you. I just want to sit here and stare at you all night." Chris was surprised by what came out of his mouth, he wasn't drunk and without a drink he was normally a shy person.
"You look really familiar."
"Yeah?" A huge smile appeared on his face. "Where from?"
"I don't know, you tell me." Was she flirting with him? He couldn't quite tell.
"Do you like music?"
"You're in a band. Exciting." She smiled.
"It's pretty good."
"Is that why you're here? You got a gig or something?"
"Aha! No, just come for a night with the kids." As soon as those words left his mouth he regretted it. Kids, why did he mention he had kids! "Have you always wanted to work behind a bar?"
"No!" She laughed. "This is just a money maker for me at the minute." She picked up three glasses off the bar. "I'm sorry to have to tell you we're closing now, you're gonna have to leave I'm afraid."
"You want rid of me" He reluctantly stood up and walked towards the door.
"If it were up to me you'd never leave."
"Is that a promise?" He smirked as she giggled.
"Goodnight Chris." She waved as she walkbegin to the store room and Chris shouted to her.
"I never caught your name." No answer, so he decided to go back to his room. Maybe he'll get it tomorrow. As he walked into the room he saw his wife and their kids all fast asleep on the same bed. He lyed on one of the other beds and stared at the ceiling, just thinking. Thinking of her, she was beautiful. Amazing, perfect, gorgeous. He had to make sure to see her tomorrow.
That night he barely slept, he was too busy thinking of her and when he was asleep he was dreaming of her. How could he be in love with this young woman when he was married?
Thats it, first chapter. Please review and tell me what you think. Should I write more?
