Naruto Uzumaki.

He was sunshine in the form of a human with a dark shadow in the form of his past. He doesn't let his shadow get the best of him, but when it does, he's a whole other person. If you saw his shadowed days, as he calls them, you would probably wonder who this boy is. Though, as years were tugging by, the shadowed days grew strong as his sunlight body faded. He would leave for hours after a small comment was made then come back like nothing had happened. Though, to everyone, they believed him when he said he was fine. He wasn't fine. For almost all of his life, it's always been about someone else.

When Iruka was in trouble while fighting Mizuki, who helped him? Naruto did.

When the Tazuna's grandson was in trouble, who helped him? Naruto did.

While fighting against Haku and Sasuke was dying, who helped him? Naruto did.

When his teammates were fighting against Orochimaru in the chunin exams, who helped them rise above themselves to fight their fears? Naruto did.

When Sakura was fighting against Ino, who helped the pink haired girl break the mind transfer jutsu? Naruto did.

When Hinata was losing against Neji, who helped her stand up against him? Naruto did.

When Gaara was losing control and attacking the people close to him, who stopped him? Naruto did.

When Sakura fell apart after Sasuke's departure, who promised to bring him back? Naruto did.

Years and years went on, which never belonged to him. He's always wanted to please someone else, hoping his kindness would lead someone to see his true pain that attacked him every day. So there he was, Naruto Uzumaki, sitting on the edge of his bed with his jacket sleeves rolled up. The only times when he would think about himself is when he would hold the kunai in his hand and glide the metal against his wrists. He couldn't die, his demon wouldn't allow it, so you could say that Naruto had no control over his life.

This thought always made Naruto stress beyond belief. As newer and newer enemies rose up, like the Akatsuki, he had to please everyone thirty times more. His clothing had to change drastically due to the mass amount of scars scattered around his body, he had to hid them somehow. He always wore a jacket of some sort and jeans, no matter the weather. He also had to be careful when going into a public hot spring, watching every one of his movements.

He's never had a choice in his life. Never was able to choose for himself or for others. He couldn't choose whether or not to be born into this world and be burdened by a demon. He couldn't choose whether or not to die by his own hands because of his torment. He had no say in anything. He could never choose whether or not he wanted to be selfless or selfish. He's never gotten the chance.

Naruto Uzumaki, the boy who's never going to have a say in his life and will forever please the people around him.
