3:02 P.M.: The last day of school at Western Skrags Middle School. It was finally summer. All the kids running around school like cannibals chasing after their fellow human prey. All except for one.
Nolan Blocksfeed, age 13. Dirty, brown hair, full, green eyes, and 5'2". He got on the bus, ever so silently, got off the bus with the footsteps of a mouse. As he went up to his room, his mother stopped him. "Hey bud, how was your last day at school?" He replied, "Fine," and continued up to his room. Then his mom said, "Have you seen your big brother lately? I haven't seen him since school got out." He then said, "Mom, I go to middle school. He goes to high school. Do you think I would have seen him?" "Well excuse me for…" "HEY LOSERS!" She was cut off by the door bursting open. "Oh look, the noob is here…" Nolan stated. "Sorry for being so 'nooby.'"
Mark Blocksfeed, age 16. Bright, blond hair, deep, blue eyes, and 5'11". "I just thought I'd try to talk to Krista… Dang, that girl is smokin'… So I'm so sorry for being late."
Ring, ring. The phone. Mom picked it up. "Hello…? Yes, one second. Nolan, it's Josh, and it sounds urgent."
Josh Turmoil, age 13. Bland, red hair, dim, green eyes, and 5'3". Nolan picked up the phone. "Hello?" "NOLAN! You've gotta get over here, fast! This is so cool!" Nolan said, "Okay, one sec. Mom, Josh needs me at his house, fast." "Well, I'm busy right now, but maybe Mark will take you," she replied. "Mom…" Nolan started to complain but bit his tongue. "Alright, fine," Mark started, "but only because Krista lives right next door to them. I might get a shot if I could just say the right words…" "Mark, please," Nolan said, "you obviously don't have a chance." "Whatever, let's just go," Mark said.
They got to Josh's house. "Alright," Mark said, "It's too early to make my move, so I'll just hang with you two midgets for a while." "Whatever…" Mark replied. Josh knew he was coming and opened the door. "Guys! In here, come on!" They hurried inside, and upstairs to Josh's room.
Krista Montage. Long, dark, brown hair, light brown eyes, and 5'6". To Mark's luck, Krista just happened to ring the doorbell at that moment. Josh's mom answered the door. "Hi, Krista. What can I do for you?" Krista started, "Well, I was looking for…" Josh ran downstairs. "Krista! Come upstairs, you've gotta check this out!" He grabbed her arm and led her up to his room. Josh started, "Alright, guys, check this out!" He pulled out a device that looked like a metal box with an antenna and a red button in the middle. "What does it do?" Nolan said. "I don't know, all I know is that I found it buried in the back yard after Buster dug a hole there," (Buster was his dog). "Well let's see it!" Mark said. "Sure," Josh replied.
He set the device down on his Xbox, stepped back, and pushed the button. Nothing. "Bummer," said Krista. Suddenly, the device began to glow. Then, Josh's Xbox began to glow. The kids started to glow after that. "What's happening?" Josh shouted. "Everyone, huddle!" Mark yelled. They all hugged each other, and bits and pieces of their bodies started to become numb, until their bodies started to disintegrate, and started to disappear until there was nothing left… To be continued…
