Once again, the faith of Equestria hangs in the balance. It takes place underground in an ancient temple where a head statue comes to life and attacks the Mane 6 (including Starlight Glimmer). When the head shoots lazer eyes, Starlight shields her friends with her magic. "GO!", said Starlight. "What, we can't leave without you." said Twilight. "GO, NOW!", said Starlight. "But.." said Twilight before she was interrupted by Rainbow Dash, "You heard her, let's get out of here." As they're leaving, Twilight is still looking back at Starlight trying to counterattack the head statue. As the Mane 6 leave, the underground temple, a giant explsion is seen, and Starlight Glimmer is seen flying in the air and crashing hard like an asteroid. The Mane 6 run towards her, as she is seen lying seriously hurt and can't move. "STARLIGHT!", yells Twilight as she is running to her near-lifeless body. "Starlight, can you hear me?", said Twilight. Starlight slowly opens her eyes and says, "You... were a great... teacher... to me.", said Starlight. "And ... a good... friend.", she said. "No! don't say that, you can't leave us. You can't.", said Twilight. "I.. don't... think... I'll make... it." said Starlight. "No, please, no.",said Twilight. "I... Love... You... Twilight. I... Love.. You... All...", said Staright one final time before slowly closing her eyes, landing her hoof on the ground and is now dead. Twilight, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Rainbow, Rarity and Applejack all cry together in front of Starlight's lifeless body.
The next day, a memorial service is held in the village from (season 5) for Starlight Glimmer. Everyone in Equestria is in attendance. Twilight Sparkle prepares to make a speech. "Hello, everypony, and welcome to this very emotional event. I would like to say something about the pony who I helped become a better pony, Starlight Glimmer, she had some tough times herself, she was bent on greed, dictatorship, and revenge. But she got over those things, all thanks to me. I helped learn about the magic of friendship. I helped her make up for all the things she had done. She had some best friends herself, old and new. She even helped me and my friends save Equestria. We considered her an important part of the group. She was one of the closest friends I've ever had, she will never be forgotten. She will always be with us, in our hearts. In all out hearts. That way, she'll remind us of how it is to be a very good friend. Thank you, Starlight Glimmer. Thank you for everything" Twilight afterwards cries and hugs the rest of the Mane 6. Princess Celestia has a few words herself. "As ruler of Equestria, I would like to take the liberty of offiacially naming this village, after the brave pony who sacrificed her life for all of us, to Starlight Village. Celestia then reveals a sign that says "Starlight Village". Then she reveals a statue of Starlight Glimmer with a plaque that says, "Starlight Glimmer, she made the ultimate sacrifice for her friends." The Mane 6 walk to the statue and stare at it. "Goodbye, Starlight Glimmer." The camera zooms at the face of the statue of Starlight. The screen fades to blank.
