He had always wondered what if.
What if he hadn't been abandoned?
What if he hadn't found a family?
What if he hadn't found his mum and dad?
Rickard 'Dick' Grayson had always wondered what if.
If he hadn't been lucky and stayed with the monsters he called Aunt and uncle, and worse if the Grayson's had never taken him in, and he had never fallen in love with the Circus.
On his darker days he always pondered, what if he hadn't been lucky and died with his Mother and Father. This then makes him feel guilty, because the he wouldn't have meet Bruce Wayne or Alfred and he wouldn't save people as Robin, Boy wonder. But on his truly dark days he just can't bring himself to care, he wanted to be angry at the world, at himself.
He wonders what if was still weak, if he was still Him. Then he thinks that he is crazy. But he still is Him and he always will be, deep down.
He wonders what if as he walks down kings cross station towards the barrier between platforms 9 and 10, wondering if he was doing the right thing, if this is what his Mother and Father would have wanted.
Then he wonders what if he turned and never looked back, go back to Gotham. To Bruce, to Batman to the crime and the filth.
What if he wasn't cursed?
What if he wasn't who he is?
He walks into platform 9 ¾.
What if he wasn't the Saviour?
He walks toward the Hogwarts Express.
What if he wasn't the Boy-Who-Lived?
He opens a compartment door.
What if he hadn't been Harry Potter?
'My Names Ron Weasly by the way, what's yours?'
