"What kind of flower do you think suits me the best Inuyasha?" The soft voiced priestess casts a shy but forward glance at the white haired half demon boy.

He laughs rather loudly, trying to hide his embarrassment and asks her," Why would you ask such a strange thing? Are you really even a priestess?"

Kikyo smiles, a gentle curve of her pink sweet lips poised elegantly on her porcelain face is enough to make any man swoon and go crazy," I'm just curious, that's all."

Inuyasha looks around for a moment. They are sitting in a meadow surrounded by all sorts of flowers. Is she trying to test him somehow perhaps? Ah, he really doesn't do well with tests.

"Um, how about that one?" Inuyasha points at a beautiful red flower with thin leaves and long slender petals that curve into one direction.

"Why is that?" She tries to hide the surprise on her face.

"Um, well I don't know. I guess cause… it's… red…? And um, it's pretty…" Inuyasha stops for what seems like an eternity and finally sputters through a red flushed face," Like you… I guess."

Kikyo stares at him, rather shocked and brings her hands to her lips and laughs tenderly," What a compliment that is coming from you Inuyasha."

"W-well don't expect it to happen too often!" Inuyasha yells indignantly and turns his face away to hide his extreme embarrassment. Surely the pup must be experienced in wooing women.

Kikyo points to a group of white roses," You remind me of those for some reason."

"W-what reason is that?"

"Because… they are white?"

"W-what!"

Kikyo bursts into laughter.

"Because white roses stand for devotion, silly. But the red flowers you picked… the spider lilies… they stand for separation. Hopefully that doesn't mean anything, Inuyasha. Of all the flowers you could have chosen, you had to choose that one."

These days, how long ago were they really? Nearly an eternity perhaps. They are the days I long for the most.
