No she didn't still have feelings for Sonny. It had been fifteen year, and she has moved on. She bit her lip as she looked at the diamonds in her hands. Who was she kidding? She still loved that man to her core, she thought as she put the diamonds on the table. She could never get him out of her mind, even after fifteen years. What was her problem? She had a boyfriend. A boyfriend she was very happy with, that made her smile and laugh. But he wasn't enough, and she knew it.

A nock came from the door. Someone she was expecting. She opened the door and greeted the man with a hug.

Tonight was going to be fun, she could already tell, she thought as she walked out the door with him, smiling.

They came back to her room, having fun, and most of all she was able to put the thought of the diamonds in the back of her mind. They were almost non-existent now, but of course they were still there. They both sat on the couch, looking into each other's eyes, sipping their drinks. Everything was going great. But then he grabbed her hands. She exhaled, hoping he wasn't going to ask her the question she didn't want to answer. They question she hated.

"Brenda Barret, will you marry me." He said; smiling with hope and love he felt for the women sitting next to him.

Shit, she thought. Knowing that it was coming, but the reality of the question hit her like lightening. It was unexpected and fast, only this volt wouldn't automatically leave her. What was she to do? Break his heart? Tell him a lie? Accept the proposal? It was one thing she didn't know how to get herself out of.

Somehow she began to ramble with clues to him that she didn't want to marry him; she wasn't ready to marry him. She told him things that got the point across but wouldn't break his heart. The conversation was going great till he asked the one question that brought the diamonds back to the front of her mind.

"Did you love him?"

She stood there and stood at the sky. It was a question she answered for herself everyday but tried to forget.

"Sonny" She said, nodding her head.

He started talking, saying things, getting closer to her, but she didn't understand a thing. He got so close, he kissed her. She finally woke up from her state and deepened the kiss, hopping it would kill her thoughts of Sonny. Of course it didn't help, and it also didn't help that he pulled back.

"Good night Brenda" He said; before walking out of her room.
