I stared at your face, with russet skin and long dark hair, such beauty of which I had never imagined. Your smile. Your laugh. You caught me looking, but you didn't protest, you didn't object.
You never did.
I held your hand, your warm fingers in mine, and felt such passion. I loved you, you loved me. I called your name and you came running. You stroked my hair, you held me. I'd tell you I owed you, you'd tell me I didn't. You'd tell me as long as you were beside me, you were just fine. I never meant to hurt you, but I did in certain ways. Sometimes I'd catch you looking, but then I'd turn away.
Just so you wouldn't see my tears.
Just so you wouldn't hear the way my heart beat rapidly when you looked at me like that.

Seeing I could lose you, came as such a loss. Hell, I was even willing to permit your obsession with floss. For me to lose you would be too much for my already broken heart. The one you mended, when it was apart. Then I'd tell you it was yours and you would humbly deny it.
