The Knight's Sacrifice
He dropped his bow
he dropped his sword
and stood defenseless
as the dragon roared.
The dragon rider thrust her dagger into the knight
and he went down
without a cry
without a fight.
He made the sacrifice to buy his friends time
and it resulted in his death
leaving them behind
to fight alone without him.
