For Jackie - Merry Christmas!
What To Wear:
'Did you ever celebrate Christmas before you met me?' Rose asked the Doctor after his domesticated Christmas day. They were back in the TARDIS in the wardrobe. Rose was sitting cross-legged on the floor, while the Doctor was pulling out different outfits trying to find something that was very 'him'.
'No' replied the Doctor. 'I don't do domesticated celebrations'
Rose laughed 'After spending the day with me, my Mum, and Mickey, I don't think you can say that anymore'
The Doctor smiled back 'Well one can make an exception'
'What are you doing?' Rose asked, watching him closely, 'You don't need to change what you're wearing. The suit and coat suits you'
'I'm not so sure' said the Doctor, sound like a teenage girl 'I think maybe something more...colourful'
Rose raised an eyebrow. This Doctor was so different to her Doctor and yet so obviously the sam 'Colour?' she really couldn't see him in anything more colourful than the light brown trench coat he currently had on.
'What about this?' the Doctor said, excitedly. Little boy at Christmas Rose thought. She didn't have a chance to see what he had pulled out because he disappeared out of the room with it.
Rose jumped to her feet in horror when he returned. Blue jeans and an arange shirt. On his wrist was a beased braclet and on his feet where a black pair of trainers. 'What do you think?' asked the Doctor.
'Have you looked in the mirror?' replied Rose. 'It is horrible'
The Doctor looked in the mirror, tilting his head to the side 'What's wrong with it?'
'You have an orange shirt with blue jeans' shrieked Rose 'And WHAT is that?' she lifted his hand, starting at the beads.
'A braclet' replied the Doctor, smiling innocently.
'You are not going out weating that' said Rose 'Get changed. NOW'
'You're right, it's not very "me" is it?' agreed the Doctor. 'let's try camouflage'
'It's going to be a long night' Rose muttered as the Doctor left with an army suit. 'Do you want anyone to take you seriously?' she asked him as he returned in the camouflage suit with a brown sweat band around his head and brown and green lines painted on his face. 'You look like a little kid. Come with me' she grabbed his arm and pulled him to a sink. She grabbed a flannel and scrubbed the lines off his face 'No go and put the suit and trench back on' she added with a sweet smily 'sargeant'
No' he said sulkily, and walked back into the wardrober.
Rose was close to banging her head on the wall as the Doctor came in dressed as a chef, a scotsman (kilt and ginger-wig included), a goth, and finally in pink.
'STOP!' she screamed. 'This cannot go on' she pulled him in front of the mirror 'Tell me you don't really think this is ok?'
The Doctor laughed at Rose's reaction, then looked in the mirror 'Oh... Maybe not' he smiled at Rose. 'Brown suit and trench coat?'
'You think?' said Rose sarcastically.
'Red converse' he added 'What about the blue suit?
'Hmm...' said Rose, looking at it 'it's... all right, but the brown one's better' she threw the brown suit and trench coat at the Doctor 'Put it back on'
The Doctor disappeared with the clothes and returned a few minutes later wearing it. Rose smiled 'That's more like it'
'Glad you approve' said the Doctor.
'It's definately very you' replied Rose and hugged him. He is my Doctor she thought.
