Rory and Logan: the afterwards
As Rory closed the door of the taxi and paid the driver she began to feel her heart pumping a lot faster than usual, but between each quick beat she couldn't help but notice that it was for good reason, the nerves she had were only because she had arrived to place where the rest of her life was about to begin. After the many hours of travelling and mind changing she knew that she had made the right decision and was glad as her heart began to slow down. She walked into the building and swiftly found the lift, where she pushed the top round button and watched as the doors closed behind her. She reached the top floor and walked slowly towards the doors straight in front of her, before knocking she took in the surroundings and realised how beautiful the hallway was, decorated with flowers and the perfect amount of light that created a warm welcoming. As she waited nervously her legs began to shake and her head began to spin, but as the door opened she stopped worrying and no one could describe the massive smile that took over her face.
Logan stood in front of her completely bewildered as to why Rory, his previous girlfriend, was now standing there, at his home, smiling. So many thoughts were running through his head at that point, she said no, she definitely said no, is it really her, has she changed her mind, what do I do, what do I say. As he calmed down and started actually thinking he realised how beautiful she looked and felt his heart get tighter, the pain of knowing he had lost her was so strong it would sometimes consume him and he snapped at co-workers or stayed at home ignoring all the phone calls from friends and family. He looked straight in her eyes and trying to break the awkward silence he managed to say one word 'Hi.'
Rory, looking at his expression trying to figure out what he was feeling but stopped at the sound of his voice, she hadn't thought about what she was going to say and so repeated exactly what he had said 'hi'
'What are you doing here Rory; you're supposed to be in….'
'I know where I'm supposed to be and that's with you, when I said no I said it because I wasn't ready and I'm still not but I know one day I will be and as you once said to me I don't know much but I know that I love you and I want to be with you, that's not going to change, so please wait for me, stay with me, we can work this out we've been through so much, please don't end this.'
'Rory, we're going to be in completely different places, we're have separate lives and you don't know that your ever be ready.'
'But Logan…. I love you'
'And I love you but that doesn't make everything okay, I'll always love you Ace but... '
'Okay, that's enough 'BUTs' for one day I'm sorry, I'm going to go now, goodbye Logan.'
Holding back the tears, Rory Gilmore turned her back on the man she could have loved forever and walked away. The door closing behind her told her that it was the end, there was no turning back, just going forward, until she felt the familiar arms wrap around her body and turn her round, she looked into his gorgeous blue eyes and got lost in his passionate kiss.
They both knew they belonged together, they also knew how hard the relationship would be but at that moment all they wanted was to stay there forever, blissfully happy and not worrying about the consequences of the future or regretting the past.
