A/N: OK so here is my first ever Hunger Games fanfic! This is just a short little drabble about Finnick, because he is my very favorite character.

Beside the Sea Here
A Hunger Games Fanfic
As he watched the waves of the rolling sea, Finnick let his mind wander to places he hadn't traveled in years. A place of happiness. A place where he wasn't disturbed by President Snow or his revolting requests, or the awful thoughts of tragedy all over Panem. This was a place where he didn't give a damn about anything else except him, and the things that made him happy.
The first and foremost thing that made the boy happy, was of course his one true love, Annie. She had the utmost beautiful cascading brown hair that looked like a brown waterfall, and it fell around her face in gorgeous curtains that made her look like the most beautiful person in the world. No, correction, Finnick thought, she was the most beautiful person in the world. She laughed with him, she cried with him. She was his second half. The thing that made him whole, the thing that made him happy.
Along with his wonderful Annie, the sea made him elated as well. It was where he grew up, where he intended on living out the rest of his life. The sea held so many beautiful and wonderful things that were unknown to him. The mystery, he thought, was what made it so intriguing. It was sometimes good not to know something, to be left in the dark, to wonder at the things you will not ever know.
In this place in his mind, he was also quite safe, for being safe made him happy. Not having to wonder whether you'd live to see the dawn of the new day, not having to worry about your friends or family, or even yourself being dragged off to certain death. Being safe, and knowing that everything and anything would turn out okay in the end.
So as Finnick sat, his hands on top of the fine grained pale sand, his face upturned toward the ravishing indigo sky that was filled with the lights of the setting sun, he reveled in this brief moment of happiness. He reveled in being able to relax, in being able to open up his heart. For he knew this moment would be gone as soon as it had come. But for now, he comforted himself with the fact, that he would live, die, and forever be happy beside the sea here.
A/N: Okay I hope you liked it! So I was thinking that maybe I could do one about Annie, what do you guys think? Read and Review :)
