I Could Never Forget
Kuki sighed and ran a hand through her long black hair. Today was her sixteenth birthday and he, Wallabee Beetles to be precise, hadn't shown up. Since she'd been ten, Kuki had had a crush on the Australian boy and sometimes she thought the feeling was mutual, but this proved that it wasn't. Nigel, Abby and even Hoagie had shown up, but nope, no Wallabee. Suddenly she remembered the old tree house and how much fun her and her friends used to have, she'd been 'Numbah 3', Nigel 'Numbah 1', Hoagie 'Numbah 2', Abby 'Numbah 5' and Wally…'Numbah 4'. "I miss those days" Kuki mumbled to herself, standing up and looking at herself in her dresser mirror. She stood about 5'6, her inky hair was long and straight, her dark brown eyes were exotic and lined with a tiny amount of turquoise eyeliner, her lips full, her complexion smooth and slightly tanned. She wore a loose emerald green sweater that Abby had bought her and a pair of dark grayish black skinny jeans along with green converse high tops. Kuki sighed again; oh how she missed her old stick legged, awkward, clumsy self. This new tall, curvaceous girl was a stranger to her. Suddenly something hit her first story bedroom window and she jumped up in surprise. Slowly and stealthily Kuki opened the window and looked out. "Who's there?" she called quietly into the dawn darkness.
"It's me" a male voice answered "Wally"
Kuki's eyes widened in surprise, she opened the window the whole way and let Wally climb in. "Oh, hey"
"Happy sweet sixteen Kooks" Wallabee grinned.
"I thought you forgot" Kuki whispered, her brown eyes meeting his jewel green ones.
"Of course I didn't forget your birthday Kooks, I just wanted to come over when no one else was here" Wally explained, brushing a strand of his long golden blonde hair out of his eyes. He took a small box out of the pocket of his jeans and placed it in the Japanese girl's hands. "I hope you like it" he mumbled
Kuki's smile didn't falter as she pried open the stubborn velvet lined box. "Oh Wally, it's beautiful" she gasped, taking the long silver chain out of the case. Dangling from the chain was a shimmering green diamond, the exact color of Wally's eyes. She hugged him tightly "Thank you so much!"
"It was my mothers" he mumbled into Kuki's silky raven hair. "A real Australian emerald"
The Japanese girls lips parted, a real emerald…wow, she clasped the necklace on and smiled, admiring it in the mirror. She stared at her reflection, Wally stood close behind her. He cocked his head slightly and pecked her on the cheek, color came to Kuki's face and she smiled, turning to face the blonde haired green eyed boy.
She leaned up and their lips touched "Thanks for not forgetting"
Wally kissed Kuki full on the lips "Kooks, I could never forget"
