Seeing that Merrick was not being successful in retrieving the millennium puzzle, he figured that there must be something missing from the ancient scriptures, or at least something that was unknown to him.

Determined to find out more about the Pharaoh's place in this life, Merrick traveled to Egypt among the ruins of the once beautiful ancient articles. Having hired (or should I say controlled to do is every will and whim) some workmen (as he was too proud to do it himself), they explored the ancient pyramids. Many deaths were taken place for disturbing the tombs' peace.

After weeks of searching, one of Merrick's mind slaves came to him with a piece of tattered parchment draped over his hand.

"Master," the slave muttered. "What's this?" demanded Merrick, snatching it from the poor man. After studying the parchment, Merrick smiled.

"Hah! Well, my slave, this will certainly convince little Yugi to give up the puzzle. You deserve a reward for your...err...generosity." The slave smiled greedily. "Will it be gold, master?"

"Merrick smiled. "Why no1" he said. "This gift is eternal."

He ordered the poor slave to be disposed of as he studied the ancient scripture. He was looking at one of the figures in particular.

"Heh..." he thought to himself, "who ever knew Tea would be a part of this!"
