The prison cell was quiet, just as it had been for the past two years. In the cell was perhaps the most devious criminal of all, for even in capture none knew his name. They only called him, Mascherato. He had terrorized all of Italy for almost a year, killing over a hundred and stealing the equivalent to 500,000 American dollars. Although he is suspected to have been born in Italy, he has no accent. He constantly wore a mask that covered all of his face except his left eye, the mask was black. His left eye was black. You couldn't tell the difference between the Iris and the pupil. His hair was black and wavy, shoulder length currently. This is the profile of a criminal of the worst kind. Brilliant to the point of insanity.
Doctor Welheimer walked through the front doors of the prison. He stepped in out of the winter chill, and he nodded at the desk officer. He said "Ah hello Vincent. I'm just here to see the patient again. Damn court just had to hire me to do this every bloody week I suppose. I'll be off then." The doctor set off through the nearest door and down the hallway, looking around for the familiar door to the Mascherato's cell. Door 213, he found it and waited for one of the assigned security guards to open it. The door swung open and doctor Welheimer gasped. Mascherato was not there.
There was only a slight ripple in the tall grasses as someone moved about the large and empty field. The ripple moved, twisting and turning, zigging and zagging, across the field as if it were trying to throw off pursuers. The ripple reached the edge of the field and as it did a figure popped out. The figure was wearing a black mask that covered its entire face. All except for one black eye. Mascherato ran down the dirt road and soon disappeared from sight of the prisons outdoor security camera. That was the last time anyone has seen the infamous Mascherato for two years. All the authorities had now was a string of thefts and murders across the globe, the latest happening in a small town close to Gotham city in America.
