Cherry Petals

Lie still

So I may hear

Your heart beat in rhythm with mine

Be still

Your harrowed breathing

My touch to soothe your mind

Be still

Your racing thoughts

Reflected in amber eyes; I gaze

Lie still

Stiffened muscles

Under my fingertips, tracing bare skin soaked in a moon glaze

Be still

Your words of mumbled quality

Finger to your lips so you may savor my taste

Be still

My own racing, breaking heart

That lives, loves, and dies for you

Be still

My trembling frame

Kneeling by your side in a final goodbye

Be still

My blurred vision

Tears obscuring the moon soaked beauty that is you

Be still

My treacherous lips

Threatening to spill both truth and pain

Lie still

As I rise up and away

A last parting gaze spared your way

Be still

My trembling legs

Running from the scene of hearts betrayed

Be still

These tears that freely flow

Sobs choking the night of its ethereal silence

Be still

The pain in my heart and mind

Seizing my muscles and my breath

Lie still

As I fall to the earth that betrayed me

Brought to life the part of me that will always belong to him

Be still

This mind of mine

Torturing me with his seraphic voice

Lie still

Listening to the foot falls

Bringing about my death; swift as the silent winds

Rising

Warmth killing the chill of the night

Embraced

In the strong, bare arms of my left behind savior

Engulfed

In strength and pressed against a chest of smooth skin

A heart beating in tune with mine

Words whispered

My body shivers in joy and want

Lips meet

A taste so sweet

Almost to much to bear

Be still

Your worried, sad eyes

Moonlight gleaming in your tawny fires

Be still

Your thundering heart

Slowing under my touch

Lie still

Your body pillowed by high meadow grass

Caressed by moonlit fireflies; my fingers linger

Be still

Your sighs of love and pleasure

My body lying on yours

Lie still

As we bathe together in the forests luminosity and aromas

Entwined in embraces that dreams could not tell

Be still

As peaceful sleep knits itself into a blanket of incubus

Cloaking us in its ghostly warmth

Be still

The hush of the wind

Blowing cherry blossom petals from luminescent pink jasmine trees

Be still

Falling around us in a soft, tamed manner

Tickling my skin; shivering your sleeping embrace tightens

Be still

My hazy mind

Counting petals as they fall; a peaceful final thought

He loves me

He loves me not

He loves me
