Kate & Gibbs – Sub Rosa Aftermath
It was dark in the NCIS office and Kate was sitting at her desk to finish the paperwork she had to do. Just 12 hours ago they were able close the case that required to get on board of a submarine. She remembered everything that had happened on the sub…oh, and a certain memory didn´t want to get out of her mind. She smiled at the thought of the emergency blow up and especially the fact that she practically pinned her silver-haired boss to the wall. A pleasant shiver went down her spine. Kate could still feel his hands wrapped around her, still could smell his unique scent which was a mixture of sawdust, soap and coffee…to her one of the most erotic scents she had ever smelt. And his sparkling blue eyes…she wanted to drown in them for the rest of her life.
Caitlin, focus on your report…otherwise Gibbs will kill you…
So she focused back on her paperwork, always having a smile on her lips.
Gibbs left the elevator and expected to be the only one being here at that time of the day. That was when he saw Kate sitting at her desk smiling and writing eagerly. Gibbs stopped and decided to watch his favourite team member.
God, she looks so beautiful…
Yeah, he finally admitted it to himself that she was the most beautiful creature walking on this earth for him. After she practically pinned him to the wall of the sub, he wasn´t able to forget her beauty, her scent and her body. He enjoyed having her so close, even now he felt some strange sort of connection between the two of them. He remembered the feeling of her hands on his chest, her hot breath mingling with his and her perfume surrounding him. He focused back on her sitting at her desk. He saw her smiling and wondered what she was thinking about. Was it even possible she was thinking about the event on the sub, too? He smirked and moved on to his desk.
Kate could feel his eyes on her all the time he was standing there. She decided to let him come to her and wait `till he would say something. She saw him moving on and finally passing her desk. She pretended to be still focused on her report. There was a silence that screamed to be broken…
"Katie…", a soft whisper came from the desk next to her.
"Yeah, Gibbs?", Kate responded still looking down on her report.
"Do you think about what happened on the sub?", his voice was soft and calm, she just had to look up and meet his gaze.
His gaze was so intense she couldn´t hold it. She knew her cheeks flushed a bright red.
"Do you?", Gibbs asked again and now moved towards her desk.
He finally knelt down in front of her desk and made her look at him.
"I do, Gibbs, I do….", she whispered softly and looked up.
A big smile crept on Gibbs´ face after hearing that statement. He leaned in closer until their lips almost touched.
"I love you, Caitlin…."
"Love you, too…", was all she could say before they finally kissed, a kiss so soft and tender she melted away.
What began on Air Force One and continued throughout the past weeks had finally found an end. An end Kate and Gibbs were both happy with.
