Dear Emily,
What I said about your father wasn't true. He never asked me to protect his legacy by having me hide that journal from you. He knew that Carol Miller was vicious, and didn't want to lead you to her. He asked me to destroy the journal. But, I needed a record in case I was to do something like this little plan of ours. So, instead of destroying the journal, I hid it in that secret safe in my wall. You found that photo and it brought the journal to your attention. You knew I must have had it.
But did you really have to attack me over it and kick me out of your plan?
I hid it from you because I care about you enough not to put you in danger. She has a gun, Emily, and I know you may have one too, but hers is bigger, and she would not hesitate to use it on you if she knew you were Amanda Clarke.
So, I'm so sorry for caring, Ems.
Kind regards,
Nolan Ross
