The blonde stared at the crumpled piece of paper. She could have sworn she threw it away years ago. The paper itself was aged, dried up tear stains marking up the letter here and there. Rikku had to wonder how it came up again, especially since she wasn't cleaning out her room or anything of the sort.

It just came out of nowhere, seemingly poofed back into existence after all these years of being stuck in the trash, forgotten, discarded, never to be looked at again.

Yet here it was, laying in the seventeen year old's hands, as if it was always meant to be there, even though she wrote it for someone else.

She never could bring herself to send that letter. Even if she did, she didn't even know where or how to send it. It was a letter, not a sphere, so delivering it would be a lot harder to deal with and being still a child at the time, the blonde didn't want to deal with it.

It had nothing to do with her cowardice.

Rikku let out a sigh and she crumpled up the paper once more. It didn't matter now. There was no point. Gippal wasn't part of the Crimson Squad, Sin wasn't around, she wasn't a child-the letter was useless.

But just as she stood to throw it away, she paused. She looked back down at the letter and walked over to her bedside drawer, opening it and stuffing the crumpled paper at the bottom.

It was useless, but...maybe someday she'd be able to show him that she really did think of him, back then. It'd be her proof.

It wouldn't be useless, then.
