Kanaya slipped into her favourite outfit: a long, loose black sleeve shirt, hanging off the shoulders, a long red skirt and heel boots to cover completely up.
"There." She stated, simply satisfied with her look. She had to be! Eridan was coming over and should be there about any minute. Ever since she started developing feelings for him, she's put an unusual amount of effort into her appearances each day. Now, she was moving onto the makeup, glossing up her lips in a shiny black paint and making her eyelids match the dark hue. She made kissy faces in the mirror until she realized how childish she looked and ceased that foolish activity AT ONCE!
Kanaya cleared her throat just as the doorbell rang. She bit her blackened lip, causing her fangs to get a tad messy as she jumped and ran to the door. Inhaling a bit of the atmosphere, Kanaya readied herself and opened the door-Eridan was standing there, shocked at how she looked much like herself only...more dolled up.
"damn, kan, you look...incredible," he managed to quietly sputter. "amazin, in fact!" They both shared an awkward smile before she invited him indoors, which he wasted no time in accepting the nice gesture.
"Would You Like Anything To Drink?" She articulated.
"wwell...if you havve anythin at all, then anythin wwill wwork really," he weakly smiled.
"Are You Alright?" She tilted her head, clearly concerned for the caped boy.
"y-yeah, i am! just...nervvous is all. this IS a date, kan."
She blinked a couple times, hearing him say that word caused her cheeks to flush green brightly and very quickly. She giggled nervously, "So A Drink, Right? I'll Be Right Back!" She ran out of the room, face in her hands, and into the kitchen, leaving Eridan speechless and confused but remaining in his seat. She let out an annoyed sigh, annoyed at herself, of course, for being so awful with romance. She ran her thing fingers through her hair and breathed for a bit before her eyes widened. Drink. He needs a drink.
She threw open the fridge and grabbed some fruit juice she's been keeping around the house lately and poured him and herself a glass and then put on a smile as she strolled back to the living room and handed him his glass and sat next to him on the couch.
"thanks, kan," He smiled shyly, but at least it wasn't awkward this time around.
She smiled, her cheeks still tinting the colour of her blood, "You Are Welcome. So How Has Life Been?"
"oh you knoww, the usual." He took a second before realizing the proper etiquette was to ask someone else about their day. "uh...wwhat about you, kan? howws your day been?"
She sat in thought for a moment. "All I Have Really Done For Today Was Get Ready For You To Come Over." She twisted her mouth into a frown at the thought. All she was doing was for him. She's become what she wanted to avoid most.
