It's been two years since we parted
Not sure how our eventual break started
It could've been one thing or another
Despite what took place
We'll always have each other
We've gone our separate ways
Oh, how I miss those days
Happiness and joviality, so everlasting
Contraction and divergence
Wish I could've prevented that from happening
As I write this piece
I think about what caused us to cease
Perhaps I didn't talk
Maybe I didn't splash you with rocks
Maybe I wasn't there for you enough
AH! I got it now
I didn't express my feelings enough
I want you to know
That I'd still do anything for you
If someone caused you harm
I'd still protect you
If someone made you cry
I'd still make that person suffer thrice as hard
For what they did to you
Even if they struck me
And left me for dead
I'd still thank the big man
For all the great times we had
I heard you're with "that man" now
Hope he's taking care of you now
Hope he's the one you wanted all along now
Hope "that man" treats you like a queen
Because that's how I saw you
