Okay, so here's another one-shot involoving the Hermione/Ron relationship. I just think they have been through so much and I just really love them together.

She had to get the image out of her head. She had tried everything, even producing a small flock of birds to distract her, but the image was still there, burned into her memory forever. Hermione Granger sat in a deserted classroom on the professor's desk thinking to herself , feeling the hard wood against her skin. She had to be going insane! Hermione Granger, the smartest witch in their year could not be this upset over a silly boy! Ron was free to do whatever he liked, even if that included making out (if sucking eachother's faces off could even be called this!) with that sorry excuse of a witch, Lavender Brown. No no, she couldn't let this get to her like that! Lavender had nothing to do with this. It was all Ron.

Ronald Weasley, that jealous little hypocrite. Ronald Weasley, the boy she had always had feelings for, but was too proud to admit it, even to herself. She had finally realized that those unmistakable pangs that occured every time she was near him were not just her imagination. Even during the Triwizard Tournament, it wasn't Krum she had impatiently been waiting for to ask her to the Yule Ball! She had been so sure he would ask her, but was sadly dissapointed when he reffered to her as a last resort. Ron just never seemed to get the hint. Boy's could be so oblivious at times.

But this year, she finally thought it would happen. That he would open up and tell her how he really felt. That he would declare his love for her. Of course, she had been foolish to think this would ever happen. What boy would wait around for a bossy know-it-all like her? Obviously not Ron. No not him, he had moved on, leaving Hermione in the dust. Was this how Ron felt when she had been with Krum? Could he have suffered like she was suffering now? She didn't think so. He had every opportunity to ask her to go with him, but he was just too much a pathetic little coward to do so. Around Yule Ball time though, all he seemed to do was get angry and be in a sour, aggressive mood. It didn't exactly seem as though he was feeling hurt or betrayed, as she was feeling now. How could he have been when he doesn't seem to care for her as much as she thought?

It wasn't as though Ron was hiding the fact that he was now involved with Lavender. It was almost like he purposefully had thrown it in her face! Snogging in public like that. Didn't they have any class? She should've know he would do something like this sooner or later. She should've been prepared for it, but instead, she had thought stupidly that he would get out of his bad mood and things would go back to normal. Nothing was normal now. She hoped he enjoyed his little make-out session with Lavender. She didn't deserve Ron. And Ron didn't deserve her. All she knew was that she was tired of these little games he was playing to mess with her mind! She was tired of their constant love/hate relationship. But if he wanted to play that way, she could play too.

Never again would she make a fool out of herself by waiting around for him.

Never again would she give him the power to hurt her like she she was hurting now.

And never again would she spend hours crying over him.

Never Again.
