THE DARK KNIGHT WAS EPIC.

Standing Ovation

What he wanted... was a Standing Ovation.

Because he deserves it- this white knight.

He smiles, because this Knight is nothing more than a figure head for the idealist. The final ploy for their perfect world where hope rides on the reputation of a single, crime fighting district attorney with nothing but a pocket full of dreams and half a face of mental breaking. He finds this pathetic and spits on the ideals and embraces the new society of live and fight for your life type of world- because then you see the truth in people.

He always liked the truth. Not once did he lie. Not once.

Because he knew that lying was the first downfall of every villain.

As the truth was always far more devastating.

So much so that the heroes lie- to live.

He laughs, because he knows he caused it.

Its not a normal laugh, really, its more a hacking giggle which escapes every now and then because he finds coughing so hilarious- his body is confused on what to do. So he spits and gags between his giggles, but he's not insane. Oh no, goodness no. The creeper, now that one is a crackpot. A lunatic. A manic. Oh no, he's not insane- he knows a good joke.

He bangs his head slightly against the metal walls of Arkham- the glass room showing him another freak. No, he pauses before he spits again in the corner, that name is reserved for someone else. Another freak. Another sicko. Another man who can understand him and make him feel that special glee that surfaces every time he arrives because the world is just a world without the villains- yet, it is not even a story without the heroes.

The Dark Knight- for he isn't the hero Gotham deserves. A black avenger- taking the blame for good men's hard earned crime because lying to the people will be a good foundation. Lying to the Gotham civilians will lead to a better future even though- he had hoped- that Dark Knight knew that a house could never stand on sand alone.

The truth was bricks.

And the Joker had plenty of it.
